pm; Wednesday, March 11th from 8:00 am – 12:00 pm and Thursday, March 12th from 8:00 am – 12:00 pm. Our parents and families are certainly encouraged and invited to take advantage of our Book Fair. All are welcome. Books are certainly an investment in a child’s education and future.

As part of this email, we have also provided you with the following attachments: Book Fair flyer; Volunteer Form (we can always use more volunteers with the set-up, working the fair and break-down); and Classroom schedule (in the event that you would like to attend the fair when your child is attending with his/her classroom).

The fifth grade classes are raising money for childhood cancer research. Please help support our efforts in raising money by visiting our fundraising website and making a donation: http://www.alexslemonade.org/mypage/1121429.

The fifth grade will be selling lemonade at the Scholastic Book Fair on Thursday, March 12th to raise money for cancer research. A cup of Country time lemonade is 1$. Come visit our lemonade stand and enjoy a cup of summer!

The grade 5 will also be hosting a yellow dress down day on Thursday, March 12th. Wear yellow, bring in a dollar, and show your support. Thank you! Mrs. Rousseau, Miss Morris, & Mrs. Koulopoulos

JUMP ROPE FOR HEARTI would like to offer a special word of congratulations and thanks to all of our students who recently participated in our “Jump Rope for Heart” program. I would also like to extend a special word of thanks to Mr. Sullivan for coordinating this event as part of his regular physical education classes. Through this community service effort, our students had the opportunity to learn how to take care of their heart, as well as our school will make a

donation to the American Heart Association. If you or your family would like to make a donation, please return your donation on or before Friday, March 6th. Thank you in advance for your continued support.

RE-REGISTRATION PROCESSAs we are now in the process of planning for the 2015 – 2016 school year, particularly in the areas of programming and staffing, if you have not sent in your child’s re-registration information, please do ASAP. It is most crucial that we have this necessary information in order to proceed with our planning process.

Sibling registration forms are now available. You may have one of your children come to the office and get a packet or you are welcome to pick up a packet yourself.

NEW STUDENT REFERRAL PROGRAM – “Become a SFA Ambassador & Receive a $500 Tuition Credit” (2015-2016 school year). As mentioned above, many of our families initially hear about St. Francis of Assisi School through a personal referral from an existing school family. Now we want to reward you for promoting our school to you family and friends! We recognize that our parents are our best ambassadors. The New Student Referral Program awards a referring SFA family with a $500 tuition credit for each student referred to SFA and enrolls for the 2015 – 2016 school year. Attached to this email is the New Student Referral Program form, which outlines in greater detail how the program works.

TALENT SHOW NEWS Due to an unforeseen scheduling conflict, the SFA talent show will take place on Wednesday, March 18th, NOT Thursday, March 19th.  Again, the show has been rescheduled for Wednesday, March 18th, at 6:30pm.  We are looking forward to seeing all of the wonderful talents of our SFA students displayed on-stage!

CATHOLIC IDENTITY LINKSThis past week our student learned about the virtue of Reverence. They learned that …

Reverence shows honor, love, and respect in our words and actions. How we call upon the Blessed Trinity with reverence and use the name of God with

respect. How we use sacred gestures at Mass and when celebrating the other sacraments and

why they are a form of reverence. In addition to showing our reverence for God, we also show if for one another through the

way we honor, love, respect each person as made in the image and likeness of God

Attached to this email, you will please find a copy of the Family Links – Reverence.

STANFORD 10 STANDARDIZED TESTING Please note that students in grades 2 – 8 are scheduled to take the Stanford 10 Standardized Tests for March 23rd – 27th. More information to follow!
