Dear Parents and Carers,

S1 Families Information Evening, Safety event and online booking system

I hope you feel that your child has made a positive start to our Autumn term, following on from our S1 Welcome ceremony on the first day of term. It was wonderful to have such a large turnout of Royal High family members, from across the generations!

I’d like to invite you to attend three events in September and register for our online booking system. Instructions on how to access this system are given below. We use the system to register for all parental events, including our parent teacher consultation evening on Thursday 9th November, from 4.10 to 6.40pm. Bookings for this event will become available later in the term.

If you are unable to book at home we are happy to make your bookings through the School Office. Please contact us by visiting reception or by calling us on 0131 336 2261 and a member of staff will be happy to help you.

S1 Families Information Evening – Wednesday 6 th September, 6.30 – 7.30pm Family members and pupils are encouraged to attend this event, held in the Main Hall. Further information will be shared on aspects of the S1 school experience, including wider-achievement and extra-curricular opportunities. Teas/Coffees will be available.

Safety Information Evening – Monday 11 th September, 6.30 – 8pm Pupils and parents from all year groups are encouraged to attend our Safety Information Evening, held in the Main Hall. Feedback from pupils and parents from previous sessions was extremely positive. Police Scotland and school staff will lead sessions on how to support your child with on-line safety, mobile phone and social media use. Teas/Coffees will be available. A must for 21st century families!

P7/S1 Open Afternoon – Friday 29 th September, 1.30 – 3pm (no online booking required)Families are invited to tour the school and experience learning in a 21st century school. Senior students and S1 pupils will be available for guided tours around the school, with families welcomed by staff into every faculty. Refreshments will be available. We will also have a range of pre-loved uniform and sporting equipment available – quality goods at family-friendly prices.

PLEASE NOTE: You need to type this address into your website browser’s ‘address bar’. Do not try to ‘Google’ this website address or use a search engine as that will not work. This is a common mistake on phones and tablets especially.

Login to see which appointments are available and select one that is convenient for you.

You will need: Your child’s legal first name and legal surname Your child’s date of birth

Once you have logged in, we suggest you use the ‘Automated Booking’ wizard to make your appointments. You will be asked to enter your availability and choose which teachers you want to see before being shown the most efficient order for visiting those teachers on the night.

Troubleshooting Tips - please read before booking! To login you need to enter the details we have on record for you and your child. If you have

recently changed your surname, for example, and not informed us, we will be expecting you to login with the details we have on record

The email address you enter is only used to receive a confirmation of your appointment. If the system gives you an error when you login, it will not be the email address that is the problem

If you have several children to make bookings for, use the ‘Change Child’ button on the blue bar (above the school’s name) in the very top left corner of the Parent’s Booking Page to swap between your children. This does not apply to the Booking Wizard, where your children are tabbed above the teacher names
