WWE TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs 2016 PPV Predictions

Introduction: In what is a SmackDown exclusive event this year we head for the TLC PPV and on paper this is shaping up to be a really good show. I think Styles and Ambrose plus Miz and Ziggler should both be having fantastic matches and the undercard looks strong too with Becky and Alexa, Nikki and Carmella and neither Corbin versus Kalisto or the tag title match should be bad at all. There's only six matches announced so far so you'd expect one or two to be thrown together and put either on the main card to kill time or on the kickoff show but despite the fact this show has only had a fortnight of build after Survivor Series I am looking forward to this show Sunday. SmackDown have done well so far with the PPVs since the brand split and I expect that to continue here.

SmackDown Expected To Deliver Again With Tables, Ladders & Chairs

Chairs Match: Baron Corbin vs. Kalisto: In a Chairs Match Corbin goes one on one with Kalisto here. This shouldn’t be a bad match but out of the six on the card it's definitely the one

I'm least interested in. This feud has gone on for a while, it paused for a bit when Kalisto was off TV I assume selling injuries given to him by Corbin in a storyline sense and then he was challenging Kendrick at Survivor Series. So this feud has been picked up then dropped off then picked up again and I'll be pretty happy to see it end here if I'm honest. It's not been a bad feud, it makes sense I suppose with Corbin playing the role of the big bully targeting the small, underdog Kalisto and this shouldn't be a bad match. The chairs stipulation is pretty lame, one match gets lumbered with it every year at this PPV. I don't see how a couple of chair shots will make this match any better, I expect it to be pretty decent and nothing much else. As for who goes over Corbin really has to, he can't be losing to a Cruiserweight if you want to build him as a dominant heel.

Chances of Winning:Baron Corbin 80% Kalisto 20%

No Disqualification Match: Nikki Bella vs. Carmella: With a No DQ stipulation Nikki Bella once again goes one on one with Carmella here. I have to give these ladies a lot of credit, I wasn't feeling their feud when it started but it's been getting better by the week. It's become a lot more personal with Carmella taking digs at Nikki's relationship with Cena and her celebrity lifestyle and it's turned into a really good rivalry. I just didn't think the two were matching up well to begin with but they've changed my view and it's really cool to see a women's feud on WWE TV that doesn't involve the title get to this level. Normally the only feud going on with the women revolves around the title, that certainly seems the case on Raw but on SmackDown whilst Becky and Alexa have been feuding over the title you've also had this feud running alongside it that's been just as good and a little better in my opinion. To see them get the No DQ stipulation is really cool too and is a sign of the level this feud has reached and I expect them to use the stipulation to their advantage and have a very decent match here. As for who wins I could see either taking it but I'm going with Carmella on the basis that Nikki won the last match at No Mercy so I think Carmella needs her win back as it would continue to help establish her. Plus they never explained who attacked Nikki before the Women's Survivor Series Match so look out

for whoever the culprit there was, likely Natalya to play a part with the No DQ stipulation in Carmella getting the win.

Chances of Winning:

WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championship Match: Heath Slater & Rhyno (c) vs. Bray Wyatt & Randy Orton: Defending the SmackDown Tag Team Titles Slater and Rhyno face the new look

Wyatt Family in Bray Wyatt and Randy Orton. So it seems like they're in it for the long haul with this Orton as a member of the Wyatt’s thing and I have to say I'm really enjoying it. It reminds me very much of around about this time three years ago when they tried to make Daniel Bryan a member of the Wyatt Family. That was scraped after a few weeks as they couldn't ignore Bryan's popularity anymore but in this case it appears they're going the distance with Orton and I'm really glad they are. I know this will in the end probably lead to Orton still turning on the Wyatt’s and all along it has been a take them down from within job but it shouldn't be rushed and they should get as much out of Orton being a Wyatt member as they can. This is the most interested I've been in Bray and Orton for some time now, they've done this storyline honestly pretty perfectly up until now and I hope it continues here with them winning the

titles. I like Slater and Rhyno as an odd couple but do they really need the titles? They haven't done a great deal with them to be honest and I think the right thing here to advance the Orton and Bray storyline is for them to win the titles. It was a bit odd the way they set this match up with American Alpha winning the tag team turmoil only to have to defend the No.1 Contendership against Orton and Bray the week later but Alpha will eventually be champions I'm pretty sure of that and I think for the time being this is the right move to keep going with Orton and Bray as the most unlikely but dominant duo wining the titles in what should be a fairly decent tag match.

Chances of Winning:

Tables Match for the WWE SmackDown Women's Championship: Becky Lynch (c) vs. Alexa Bliss: Defending the SmackDown Women's Title in a Tables Match Becky faces Alexa here. This match should be good stuff and I'm glad these two have got the tables stipulation. When you see Charlotte and Sasha over on Raw having Hell in a Cell and Falls Count Anywhere matches there's no reason why the SmackDown girls shouldn't be getting the same treatment and this match

deserves to have this stipulation. This feud has been pretty good stuff, I think Alexa has really shone as a heel, I'd go as far to say she's the best female heel in WWE today, I certainly enjoy her more than Charlotte. They had the finish in Glasgow where the referee didn't see Alexa's foot on the rope giving her the motivation to keep going after Becky and they've told a pretty good story here between the two. Becky I have to admit I've never liked on the microphone, she comes off far too cheesy and corny for me but she's a damn good wrestler so she gets away with it. Normally Tables Matches are one tease spot after another where someone looks like they're going through a table but this match won't be as cut and dry as that and I'm expecting good stuff. As for who goes over it could go either way, I'd be fine with Becky retaining, I wouldn't complain but I'd also really like to see Alexa win the title. Perhaps the tables stipulation meaning the match isn't decided by pinfall or submission increases Alexa's chances of becoming champion here but I'm still slightly edging it Becky's way.

Chances of Winning:

Ladder Match for the Intercontinental

Championship: The Miz (c) vs. Dolph Ziggler: In what should be another classic ladder match for the Intercontinental Championship Miz defends the title here against Ziggler. This should be a fantastic ladder match, Miz and Dolph are at that stage now where you can pretty much guarantee every match they have together is going to be great. They've built such an awesome chemistry with each other over the years and now know each other inside out in that ring which is why the standard of their matches are so consistently good and when you throw in the Ladder Match stipulation this should be the best of the bunch. It's been a fantastic feud, arguably the best WWE has had all year and when you think of positives to come out of the brand split these two and the work they've done over the Intercontinental Title is a big one. This seems as if it will be the end to the feud, Bryan said the two will go their separate ways after this and I think this feud ends with Miz once again by hook or by crook retaining the title. They put the title back on Miz after Dolph put his career on the line to win it so I don't think they would've given Miz back the title just for Dolph to win it back again. The feud Miz and Daniel Bryan have been having continues to bubble and it will continue to do so more and more if Miz keeps a hold of the title with dirty tactics. The dream is Bryan comes out of retirement but unfortunately that's very unlikely, what I think is more likely is Bryan finds a representative to take the title from Miz, can we dream of Nakamura? Nevertheless I'm getting ahead of myself, as for this match it should be awesome and perhaps with help from Maryse,

Spirit Squad or any underhanded tactics you can think of Miz keeps the title.

Chances of Winning:

Tables, Ladders & Chairs Match for the WWE World Championship: AJ Styles (c) vs. Dean Ambrose: In the main event Ambrose challenges Styles for the WWE World Title in a TLC Match. This should be a fantastic main event, I really enjoyed the main event one on one match they had at Backlash and the triple threat with Cena at No Mercy was just as good. So these two going at it again this time with the TLC stipulation should make for a brilliant watch. It's Ambrose's type of match to get crazy and AJ never fails to deliver whether it be against Jericho, Roman, Cena and others, he always brings it on the big stage. I'd like to say I've enjoyed this feud but for me it's been very much hampered by the James Ellsworth stuff. I mean it was entertaining for a few weeks but then Ellsworth just became a massive nuisance and for me has prevented AJ and Dean from having the sort of great title feud they could have had. I am concerned he'll get involved here, on SmackDown AJ gave him a Styles Clash off the steel stairs onto the floor and he left the arena in the back of an

ambulance so I'm hoping that writes him out of any involvement here. But he'll probably end up still coming out injured and all so we just have to hope his involvement is kept at a bare minimum. I don't see him helping Ambrose to win or anything like that as I expect AJ to retain. Talk continues of a possible Styles and Undertaker title match at the Rumble, just the thought of which gets me very excited. Dean really shouldn't be winning the title back, AJ's reign needs to continue and have the opportunity to improve and if Undertaker is working the Rumble that's the perfect title defence for him. The dream scenario is AJ retains and during his celebration Undertaker appears and hits him with a tombstone signalling their title match but nevertheless AJ to retain in what should be a hell of a main event.
