7th Grade iWonder Information Literacy Project

Now that you have experienced the fundamentals of research, you will begin your exciting journey through the 7th grade Information Literacy Project. This year, your project will be an original personal inquiry project that corresponds to the MYP Global Contexts outlined in this document.

Your 7th grade ILP enables you to:● Get to know yourself as a learner● Learn how to be an effective researcher● Evaluate and document sources of information● Gather information about a personal interest● Learn how to communicate your specialized knowledge● Construct a project or product that reflects your research

Your ILP binder will help you navigate your way through your second ILP journey. Keep an open mind and you will be amazed at what you can learn and do!

Topics I am Considering…

You will choose two topics as possibilities for your 7th grade ILP. You and your advisor will discuss each of your topic choices and you will decide together.

Part II: Essential Questions

Your essential questions will focus your research through the process of inquiry into your topic. A topic can be researched from many angles. Remember to carefully choose your essential questions because they are what will focus your ILP.

Your essential questions SHOULD:● Focus your research● Spark curiosity and wonder● Be big questions that require a lot of thought (i.e. why questions)● Require you to gather research from numerous sources so you can piece

together an answer to the question

Your essential questions SHOULD NOT:● Be the same question you answered last year● Have a yes or no answer● Be able to be answered in a word or phrase● Have an answer that comes from one source

You and your advisor will discuss your essential questions and will decide together which ones will work best for focusing your research. List the questions below.
