Lord, make me an instrument of your peace. Where there is hatred, Let me sow love; Where there is injury, pardon; Where there is doubt, faith; Where there is despair,
hope; Where there is darkness, light; And where there is sadness, joy: O Divine Master, Grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
To be understood as to understand; To be loved as to love. For it is in giving that we receive; It is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
And it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

Color for Worship: Green
When we are not in the seasons of Advent, Christmas, Lent or Easter,
we are in the growth period of Ordinary Time -
marked by the living and hopeful color of Green.
While the ‘seasons’ of the church year focus upon one aspect
of the presence of God in our lives, Ordinary Time celebrates all aspects.
May your Ordinary Time be EXTRA-ordinary!

Gathering Bridge of Light Pink
When you think hope is lost, And giving up is all you got; Blue turns black, Confidence is cracked; There seems no turning back from here; Sometimes there isn't an obvious explanation;
Why the holiest hearts can feel the strongest palpitations; That's when you can build a bridge of light; That's what turns the wrong so right; That's when you
can't give up the fight; That's when light turns night to day; That's when loneliness goes away; That's why we gotta be strong at night; This is when we build a bridge of light.
When your feet are made of stone; You're convinced that you're all alone; Look at the stars instead of the dark; You'll find your heart shines like the sun; Let's not let our anger get us lost;
The need to be right comes with way too high a cost; Deep breath, take it on the chin; But don't forget to let the love back in!
Prayer of Illumination
If the human body of blood and muscle is to live, it needs salt. If the body of Christ, a body of peace and justice, is to live, it needs us! If the earthly creation, bustling and
blooming, is to flourish, it needs sunlight. If the creation in Christ is to flourish, it needs the Light of the Spirit! God our Creator, we flavorless, light-bearing seekers who love
You and desire peace with one another, who know the enhancing power of salt and life giving light - we come today as we are, we come to be changed and enabled to be salt
and light for the world around us. Shine Your light upon us this day!

Gospel Lesson Matthew 5:13-20 Common English Bible
13 “You are the salt of the earth. But if salt loses its saltiness, how will it become salty again? It’s good for nothing except to be thrown away and trampled under people’s feet. 14 You are the light of the world. A city on top of a hill can’t be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a basket. Instead, they put it on top of a lampstand, and it shines on all who are in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before people, so they can see the good things you do and praise your Father who is in heaven.
17 “Don’t even begin to think that I have come to do away with the Law and the Prophets. I haven’t come to do away with them but to fulfill them.
18 I say to you very seriously that as long as heaven and earth exist, neither the smallest letter nor even the smallest stroke of a pen will be erased from the Law until everything there becomes a reality. 19 Therefore, whoever ignores one of the least of these commands and teaches others to do the same will be called the lowest in the kingdom of heaven. But whoever keeps these commands and teaches people to keep them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
20 I say to you that unless your righteousness is greater than the righteous-ness of the legal experts and the Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.

Sermon You - Light of the World David W. Key, Sr.
~ We Respond ~
Response Go Light Your World Chris Rice
There is a candle in every soul; Some brightly burning, some dark and cold; There is a Spirit who brings a fire; Ignites a candle and makes His home.
So carry your candle, run to the darkness; Seek out the helpless, confused and torn;
Hold out your candle for all to see it; Take your candle, and go light your world.
Frustrated brother, See how he's tried to light his own candle some other way; See how your sister has been robbed and lied to;
Still holds a candle without a flame.
We are a family whose hearts are blazing; So raise our candles; Light up the sky;
From the Creator; Christ the Light bearer; Make us a beacon in darkest times!

Response Kindle a Flame (A Celtic Prayer) Ken Bible First time, Solo; Second time, ALL
Our Father, who art in heaven; Hallowed be Thy name. Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day, our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, As we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, But deliver us from evil. For Thine is the Kingdom, And the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen.
