Under the supervision of the Code & Building Official andTown Manager, performs investigations, evaluations, and researchassociated with improvement or abatement of codeviolations. Determines the presence of nuisance violations, healthhazards, unsafe building conditions and violations of any health,building or land use regulations, property maintenance, statute orordinance. Responsible for enforcement of the Town’s Sign and Li-censing Codes. Perform various administrative duties to supportthe Code & Building Official. Receive, document, and followthrough on all complaints. Duties also include theresolution of zoning inquiries by referencing regulations and re-sponding to telephone and in-person inquiries, related buildingcodes, and data entry, filing and general office duties.
Required Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesMinimum of two years’ experience in Code Enforcement. Highschool diploma or equivalent, high level of computerproficiency including knowledge of and experience with such com-puter programs as Microsoft Office (Excel a must), Outlook Expressand financial software. Ability to read blueprints and site plans.Any satisfactory equivalent combination of education experienceand training which ensures the ability to perform the work maysubstitute for the above.
The successful applicant must possess a valid driver’s li-cense, pass a background check and drug test. Salary will
be commensurate with education and experience.
