New course booking system for
September 2013
Please note the change to the way to book your MIS courses.
A new online booking system has been designed for schools to book onto the MIS
(SIMS and RM) courses. The system is easy to use, includes the full schedule of
training courses and dates and will also cater for enquiries about training needs.
Using the on line booking form, applications from schools will require agreement
to the Terms & Conditions, removing the approval stage. For courses that attract a
fee the transfer will be arranged after the course. There is also a Schools Finance
link for schools to express an interest for Schools Finance courses and on-site visits
– these will be managed by the Schools Finance Team.
The new system will allow more control for schools and the School Support Team
to manage course bookings including cancellations and the creation of additional
courses when a high demand requires it.
Schools will still need to use the OCC eBooking system for non-MIS courses
(Health & Safety etc.).
The new on line booking system is accessed from the Schools intranet site
http://schools.oxfordshire.gov.uk.
Select T on the alphabetic list and then select Training.
If you have a training need that is not covered in the course offer, pages 8-10 in
this document, please contact the team and we will endeavour to meet this need,
either by a Consultants visit to your school or running courses at the usual venue
‘on-demand’.

www.logmein123.com As you are probably already aware, with the closure of the central server service, we can no longer shadow your SIMS session, but don’t despair as help is at hand! We now use a remote access tool called LogMeIn, which means we can see exactly what you are doing should you choose to invite us to join you – we’ve been using the tool for a few months now and can confirm it is straight forward and effective. We advise you save a bit of time by going to www.logmein123.com and then save it as a favourite.

RM Integris G2
RM Integris G2 has been selected by OCC as the preferred Management
Information System (MIS) for Oxfordshire schools. Positive feedback
suggests the extensive training the Schools Support Team delivered in
April and May were successful, also the recent follow-up refresher
Presentations delivered at various locations across the County – here are
just a few of the comments received:
If you have any questions or concerns, call the Schools Support Team;
we’re here and very happy to support you, either over the telephone or we
could arrange a visit to your school.

OPT Update The OPT resources continue to be developed along with recommendations from the Schools Effectiveness team. Please look out for further developments coming – in particular with the movement of reception children to Year 1 and of course with the changes to the Primary Curriculum following the DfE’s consultation this year. We are delighted to launch the RM Integris version of the resources. We are pleased to confirm that those OPT users who are now using RM Integris as their MIS will have all their OPT data migrated into Integris over the summer holidays. Reminder: if you haven’t sent in your data migration permission form to us, please do so asap as we’re unable to move your data without this. Schools will be able to start working with the new resources in the new academic year. Please note that there are 2 RM Integris Presentations on 16th September, which we recommend that you attend. This will get all Integris users started with the new resources. Details can be found at the back of this document. For those who want to keep their OPT resources up to date or who want to start using the resources, the OPT service is available for any school – regardless of whether you use RM Integris or SIMS. This entitles schools to the updated files and a great deal of specialised support. Please contact us for further details. Schools who do not buy into the OPT Service can continue to use the resources, but this will not entitle you to any updates. In the meantime, training continues for all the OPT resources (including ORD with dates to be released shortly) as usual. Please refer to the training schedule or see Insite for more details.

Adding Students to the School Roll
It is important that only students who are joining your school or who have
already joined your school are entered into Integris or SIMS .net. If the
admission date is in the future it is best practice to add the student to the
Admission roll then admit onto the current roll when they arrive. This is
particularly important when using Integris as it is not possible for you to
delete a student from the current roll.
It is also important not to add dummy students to the current roll for any
reason as this can cause issues with statutory returns and returns to County.
If you do find that you have an incorrect or duplicate student record, please
contact the Schools Support Team who will arrange for the record to be
deleted.
RM Integris Schools –
Attendance Report for Ofsted Inspections To prepare for SIMS Central being decommissioned and access to SIMS .net being
withdrawn it is recommended that the % Attendance Vulnerable Groups Report is
generated, with a copy saved and a copy printed for academic years 2010/11 and
2011/12 as this historic data is not readily available in RM Integris.
This report will allow analysis of percentage attendance for all year groups and some
vulnerable groups. The report is particularly useful for Headteachers/SMT to analyse
Attendance data for vulnerable groups during an Ofsted inspection.
Please see details on the next two pages.
