  • Healthcare Simulation South Carolina healthcaresimulationsc.com Introduction The STAT Center is located on the Main Campus and there are 2 Simulation rooms located in the nursing building as well. There is also a Simulation room on of the satellite campus. This room is utilized by Nursing and Respiratory faculty and students. Greenville Tech's STAT (Simulation Technologies And Training ) Center provides our health science and nursing students with simulators in eight lifelike environments including an outdoor scene, indoor scene, emergency room, labor and delivery area, neonatal resuscitation, standard patient room, operating room, and specialty room such as ICU or pediatric ICU. The STAT center is utilized by Nursing, PCT, Respiratory, EMT, Dental, Radiology, and the PTA/OTA departments. The STAT Center is run by Mike Fisher and Patrick Wolf. Both of these Sim Specialists have extensive training in Simulation and have EMT backgrounds. Approximately 3,223 students have participated in approximately 408 simulation scenarios over the past year.

  • Healthcare Simulation South Carolina healthcaresimulationsc.com MISSION AND GOALS Mission: The mission of the Simulation Technologies and Training (STAT) Center is to improve patient care, patient safety and healthcare education through the use of Advanced Instructional Technology. Goal: The goal of the Simulation Technologies and Training (STAT) Center is to provide a lifelike patient care experience for health science and nursing students in a safe, friendly environment where patient care skills can be practiced without causing possible harm to a live patient.

  • Healthcare Simulation South Carolina healthcaresimulationsc.com Top 5 Key Accomplishments 1) Simulation integrated into all Nursing Courses-both old and new curriculum 2) Addition of Interdisciplinary Collaborative Simulation- held each semester this IDCS includes collaboration among Nursing, Respiratory, EMT, PCT, a PA from AHEC/MUSC and this year the addition of M4 medical students. 3) Addition of Simulated Capstone Experience 4) NG Tube research study 5) Implementation of Hybrid Simulations- NG tube insertion and newly added Catherization Insertion (Fall of 2013)
