DAMNATIO MEMORIAE AND THE SECOND HISTORYSummary

Roman law knew institute damnatio memoriae erasing of someone from history which literally means condemnation of memory. It is applied to those who have sinned against the Roman state and its rulers, and whose names were therefore deleted from the memory. Damnatio means to curse, and the institute reports that it is not enough for sinners to be physically and legally punished, but more importantly it should damned them totally taking their place in history. This institute naturally became the backbone of creating second history that inevitably follows from a series of sentences to damnatio that suppress and tear the thread of memory. By deleting names history that we know is actually created.
