Plan Bubble Chat Email Listserves Webinars Staff Meetings COMPASS Training What’s working for
you? What’s not?
This was our main communications focus last year – so that we can be more effective communicators, share lessons learned, and learn from one another
Communications Plan
Everyone who is part of NatCap has a good understanding of who we are and what we are doing, and their role in it
Optimized internal communications will foster collaboration between groups, quickly disseminate knowledge, and allow people to be more effective at what they do best
Internal Goals NatCap, our
approaches (including tools), and stories are well known among our target audiences
External Goal
We’re doing great work
People (levers for change) don't know about NatCap or the great work we're doing
(include Vision & Mission)
We just need to tell people – the right people - about it!
Our main goal for this year is to tell people our stories

NatCap Approach
People are making conservation and development decisions separately, and therefore not incorporating environmental benefits into those decisions. Without properly acknowledging these benefits, we risk losing them. The Natural Capital Project (NatCap) has developed a set of science-based methods and software tools that can help estimate the true value of the goods and services provided by nature in a spatially-explicit manner. Accounting for these ecosystem services can clarify the tradeoffs between alternative development scenarios and help people make more informed decisions on how to use their lands and waters.*Diagram under development
