3b. Science 1 Built in 1972 the building underwent some cosmetic changes in 2013-2014. This included new paint on the building’s trim and new ramps and handrails. The building’s new layout provides larger open spaces and seating areas with power supply connections built into tables, making it more inviting and functional for students, faculty and staff alike. It is the new home for the CSU Stanislaus departments of Mathematics, Philosophy and Modern Languages, as well as the School of Nursing, which now boasts a cutting-edge simulation lab to give hands-on training to the region’s next generation of nurses. 2. Nora and Hashem Naraghi Hall of Science Completed in 2007, the three-story, state-of-the art facility features 25 science and computer laboratories, 16 science project rooms, four classrooms, 58 faculty and department offices, and observatory. The $54.5 million building project took more than two years to construct. 3a. University Bookstore The bookstore features an impressive architectural design with an octagonal entry tower and basilican form. The 12,000 square-foot building is twice the size of its predecessor in the Student Union. In addition to the sections for books, supplies, and always popular CSU Stanislaus clothing and memorabilia items, the store includes a reading and lounge area. A coffee-dispensing machine and cold drinks are also available. The bookstore entryway includes sculptor Andrew Wilson Smith's marble herms of ancient Greek poets side by side with images of California authors, celebrating literary connections between ancient Greece and California. 4. Main Dining Hall The totally refurbished main dining hall includes a traditional grill, Mexican food center, Asian and Italian cuisine; plus deli-style food; and soup and salad bars. Modular partitions allow for the dining area to be transformed into a formal or semi-formal venue for day and evening University functions, such as receptions and awards banquets. 5. University Student Union and Student Activities Center The game room includes pool tables, ping-pong, video games, TVs, air hockey, and other recreation equipment as well as Xbox, Playstation and Wii gaming stations. The Information Desk and Mail Center provides general information services about the campus, copy equipment, UPS shipping services, poster-making services, discount tickets, and much more. Associated Students sponsors more than 80 clubs and associations; special events include Club Faire, Homecoming, and Warrior Day. Concerts, comedy nights, movies, multicultural programs, and special events are held throughout the year. Outdoor Adventure Programs offers weekly outdoor kayaking, skiing, rock climbing, horseback riding, hiking, and more. The Student Leadership Program provides students with the opportunity to develop skills to build self-esteem and management abilities. 6. Event Center and Carol Burke Student Lounge Major University events are held in this multi-purpose facility. Outstanding local and national speakers, government officials, educators, and personalities have all addressed the campus community from this room. The recently renovated Carol Burke Student Lounge is one of the most popular places on campus for students to study in or just relax and watch TV. Named in memory of the late Mary Stuart Rogers, this 130,000-square-foot building was completed in February 2002. The first floor is a one-stop center for student services, including Financial Aid, Admissions and Records, Outreach, Cashier's Office, the Educational Opportunity Program, and the Academic Advising Center. Also on the first floor are the Graduate School, Conference Center, and smaller meeting rooms. On the second floor are Counseling Services, Human Resources, Business and Finance, and University Extended Education (UEE). On the third floor are the President's Office, the Provost's Office, Office of Research and Sponsored Programs, Student Affairs, Faculty Affairs, University Advancement including Communications & Public Affairs, and Institutional Research.

10. Student Recreation ComplexLocated on the east side of campus, The University's $16.1 million Student Recreation Complex, which opened in 2009, features a fitness center, 2,300-seat lighted soccer stadium, the Al Brenda all-weather track, and lighted intramural sports fields. The complex includes an aerobics dance room, a personal fitness room for cardio and weight training, and a multi-sport gymnasium for recreation and play.

11. Housing & Residential Life VillageThe Residence Village currently houses 656 students in 164 modern, well-appointed suites and apartments. Each apartment has four bedrooms and a full kitchen. Cost for housing and meals for all residents average $7,760 per year. All apartments in the Village are wired for campus network data connections for personal computers and offer free cable TV. Facilities include: a computer lab with free printing, study lounge, two pools and a spa, recreation room, conference room, laundry facilities, 200-seat dining facility, sand volleyball court, meeting rooms, and basketball courts. Special Village activities include intramurals, dances, barbecues, picnics, parties, and outings.

12. Public SafetyThe Office of Public Safety provides services and assistance to the campus community and surrounding neighborhoods 24/7. As California sworn officers, Public Safety officers also serve the neighborhoods adjacent to the campus. The University has installed blue light phones around campus for emergencies. Calls are handled by the Public Safety dispatcher. Public Safety also manages a Peer Escort Program to accompany evening students to their cars or classrooms and offers self-defense and whistle-defense workshops.

8. John Stuart Rogers Faculty Development CenterThis 10,000-square-foot facility houses the Faculty Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning, as well as offices of the Speaker of the Faculty, Academic Senate, and the California Faculty Association. Funds for this beautiful facility were provided by long-time University supporter John Stuart Rogers. The Center, which contains a sizeable reference room, includes training and conference rooms equipped with telecommunications cabling and technology. This type of facility dedicated for faculty development is rare on University campuses.

9. Fitzpatrick ArenaHome to Warrior Athletics, arena athletic events are free for students. The University fields 14 intercollegiate men's and women's sports teams in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA). The athletics program is affiliated nationally with the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA) Division II. The Warriors are proud of having established a tradition of winning. Warrior athletes have won 12 national golf championships, 2 national baseball championships, and reached the Final Four in men's and women's basketball. Since 1968, nearly 250 Warrior athletes have been named All-Americans.

7b. Student Services: International EducationTake your educational experience to the next level by studying abroad. In an increasingly global economy, the demand for employees with an international dimension to their resumes is at an all-time high. Stan State offers programs in a variety of majors with intersession, summer, semester and year-long options.

,a��u�������� �)�����This facility provides quality low-cost basic medical care services to students and other members of the campus community. Services include care for minor illnesses and injuries, HIV screening and more. The well-equipped clinic is professionally staffed by a senior physician, part-time physicians, and a nurse practitioner.

13. Child Development CenterThe Center is an instructional facility where students learn child development theory and application. The Center serves infants, toddlers, and preschoolers from 2 months to 5 years of age; many are children of faculty and staff members. Nearly 200 students from varied disciplines work at the Center. This is the only child development laboratory in the CSU System that employs students as head teachers, aids and administrators. Staff positions are designated to coordinate with university courses so that students receive excellent supervised practicum experience.

14. University Honors Program (housed in the Innovative Center)The Honors Program is designed for students who choose to engage in their academic studies with heightened vitality, discipline, critical perspective, and intellectual curiosity. The program is open to students of all majors. Freshmen and juniors are accepted in cohorts. Sophomore and mid-year applicants are accepted on a space-available basis. Course requirements are specified for each year of the program. The program offers students contexts in which to explore connections between theory and practice and intellectual frameworks that connect and integrate ideas and methods across disciplines. 15. Dorothy and Bill Bizzini HallBizzini Hall (formerly the Classroom Building) is home to these academic departments: Agricultural Studies, Economics, History, Ethnic Studies, Political Science and Public Administration; Anthropology, Geography, and Social Sciences; Child Development and Psychology; and Criminal Justice and Sociology.

16. Demergasso-Bava Hall (formerly Professional Schools Building)Named in honor of the Demergasso and Bava families, who contributed to the cost of construction, the three-story modern building is often referred to as the Professional Schools Building. DBH houses the College of Business Administration and College of Education. The departments of Cognitive Studies, Communication Studies, Liberal Studies, Computer Science, Nursing, and Mathematics are located here as well as the campus radio station, KCSS, and the student newspaper, The Signal.

17. Vasche Library Building and the University LibraryThe Vasche' Library Building was named in honor of the University's first President, Dr. J. Burton Vasche. The Library, located on the second and third floors, offers a collection of 375,000 books, 2,200 music CDs, 3,200 videos and DVDs, 800 current magazines and journals in print format and 31,000 magazines and journals in electronic format. Library services include an online library catalog, reference and research help, research instruction, computer workstations, and wireless access to the Internet. Quiet study areas, group study areas, and small meeting rooms are available throughout the library. The library building also houses the Tutoring Center, Writing Center, as well as two-state-of-the-art computer labs, a new technology lab, and a Geographical Information Systems Lab.

18. College of the ArtsThe Arts Building complex houses the three programs within the College of the Arts: Art, Music, and Theater. Live performances are staged in the Mainstage and Studio Theaters. The University Art Gallery features public exhibits each academic year by nationally recognized University faculty as well as student artists. www.csustan.edu/ artgallery. The Bernell and Flora Snider Music Recital Hall is an exceptional performance venue for our students and visiting artists. Performances are offered throughout the year; capacity is 312. World-renowned pianist Van Cliburn, in a rare public appearance, inaugurated the Snider Music Recital Hall.
