Program Summary:

Tattv’18, the annual National Operations Summit was held on 8th Sep 2018 at SIOM. The event was based on the theme “Operations Ontogenesis – Towards business excellence”. A large number of industrial experts from various sectors had graced the occasion to share their views on various subthemes that were based on the main theme. Also a number of industry delegates came & witnessed the event along with the entire MBA 1820 batch & the PGDOM batch. The event began with a welcome note & for the first time, the video from Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat” was screened at SIOM. Post this the audience paid their tribute by singing the national anthem followed by introduction speech by Dr Vandana Sonwaney. It was followed by speech chief guest of the event Mr. Revinipati Sridhar, CEO, Essar Steel India Ltd. On topic: Corporate Turnaround: A case study of Essar Steel Pune Facility.

The opening keynote Mr. PM Balaji, Associate Vice President-Procurement, Toshiba kick started the event by his speech on the topic “Future of JIT in India”. It was followed by Dr. Satish Raghavendran, Director Analytics, Cognizant Technology Solutions delivering insights on the topic “Analytics embedded operations : Way forward”. Post tea break the first panel discussion took place on the topic “Digital Supply Chain and E- Procurement” with panelists – Mr. Amit Ahluwalia, Regional Sourcing Leader – Grid Solutions, GE power, Mr. Bhaskar Jha, Chief Installation Manager,

Mr. Procyon Mukherjee, Chief Procurement Officer, LafargeHolcim then highlighted about “Global Value Chains and International Operations”. It was followed by lunch break post which Mr. Manish Deoghare, Founding Partner, AMD management Consulting LLP delivered on the topic “Operations Sustainability : Reengineering the Industries”. At the peak of the session the charge was taken up by Mr. Mahendran Subramaniyan, Senior Vice President at Scope International, Standard Chartered who enlightened the audience with his knowledge on the topic “Integrating Operations and Finance: A two-way street”. Following this the second and final panel discussion took place with the panelists: Mr. Rakesh Singh, Veteran Speaker, ISCM, Demand planning academy, Mr. Sujay Kumar, Regional SC Manager, Ecolab, Mr. Amol Lele, Director, Armstrong & Mr. SB Raju, Business Head for Global SCM Services and Regional Supply Chain Manager, Eaton who discussed on the “Impact of IoT on Supply Chain Management”. The final speaker of the day was Mr. Shekhar Tewari, MD- Supply Chain & Network Operations, Accenture who spoke on the topic “Digital transformation through AI & machine learning- Threats & opportunities.”

The conference ended on a high note by vote of thanks by the convener to all the dignitaries, speakers and Tattv’18 team members.
