For example, cotton is not harmful to humans, but the cultivation of cotton is harmful to nature. For the cultivation of cotton huge amounts

of water and energy are required, people use large quantities of pesticides so soil suffers. Of course, there is cotton, which is grown on

the bio chemical-free farms, but its price is higher. Such cotton is collected manually, the products are soft and pleasant to the body.

The same problem is with wool and silk. They are harmless to humans, but the production of wool harms the sheep. The

environment in which they live is often dirty and rich in parasites, so once a year they are forced into a tub of pesticides. And this harms

not only the animals, but people, who will then wear clothes with residues of chemicals.

For silk processing formaldehyde, disinfecting agents and pesticides are used which are also poisonous for the nature.

Greenpeace research showed that coloring of fabrics and drawing pictures using huge amounts of chemicals are not only harmful to

the environment and people, but are very dangerous and poisonous

Also, Greenpeace presented the list of brands of clothing which use dangerous chemical substances in their production : Benetton, Diesel, Armani, H&M, Zara, Levi’s, Victoria’s Secret, Mango,

Calvin Klein и Tommy Hilfiger.

At the same time there are designers who represent f the "green fashion“. One of them is is Stella McCartney – an ardent defender of nature. For her

collection of sunglasses she found an alternative to ordinary plastic - special plastic, which is made from the seeds of the castor oil and acetate plastic.

Now Stella McCartney actively produces eco-collection, the material for which serve only natural fabrics. On the labels of its trademark green circleis are

painted , which means that the product is 100% organic.

A very famous and conservative brand of "Gucci“ also took part in the pursuit of the title of "green mark“. They released an eco-collection of

men's and women's shoes. Female line is made of bio plastics - material, which is produced from the compost. And in the male line they used

bio-rubber. Shoes are painted with plant paints and decorated with calf skin.

Puma manufactured eco-collection in 2012. As a material for jackets in the collection they used recycled polyester, which is made of plastic

bottles. The brand solves the problem of disposal of products: after using the goods, you can simply bring them to the shop and they can be used

as compost.

Other fashion houses, for example Hennes&Mauritz, actively produce eco-friendly collections.

All this means that eco-clothing is not only useful for the nature and people, but can become the clothes of

famous brands in your wardrobe.
