• Theobligationsyouowetoyourdependents;

• Thatyourattorneywillbeabletodoonyourbehalfanythinginrespectofpropertythatyoucoulddoifcapable,exceptmakeawill,subjecttotheconditionsandrestrictionssetoutintheEPA;

• That,unlesstheattorneymanagesyourbusinessandpropertyprudently,theirvaluemaydecline;

• Thattheattorneymightmisusetheirauthority;and

• Thatyoumay,ifcapable,revoke(cancel)theEPA.

ArepresentativedoesNOThaveauthorityto:

• Dealwithrealestatematters.

• Actasanofficerordirectorofacorporationtheadultownsorserveson.

• Makeriskyinvestments(daytrading,stockmarket).

• Makeagiftorloanoftheadult’smoneytoanotherperson.

TheseauthoritiescanbecoveredinanEnduringPowerofAttorney,whichrequiresyouunderstand6itemsinordertobeconsideredcapable.

AnEnduringPowerofAttorney(EPA)isalegaldocumentmostpeoplewillusetocovertheirfinancialandlegalaffairswhenplanningforthefuture.

• AnEPAdoesNOTcoverhealthcareorpersonalcaredecisions.> EvenifyourEPAhaswordingthatreferstohealthcare,itdoesnotapply.
