Garage Student Ministries / 6 th -12 th Grade Join us on Wednesdays for our NEW 8-week series: PARABLES Each week offers a new story line, a new plot twist, and something you didn't see coming! 1. The Prodigal Son 2. The Shrewd Manager 3. The Sower 4. The Tower Builder 5. The Wheat and the Tares 6. The Friend at Midnight 7. The Good Samaritan 8. The Lost Sheep IYC International Youth Convention packets are now available at the Youth Booth in the East Lobby. Pick yours up today and join us in San Antonio in July! Students currently in grades 8-12 are eligible. Prison Tour – 1/29 Putnam County Drug Prevention Coordinator, Danielle Gillispie and Corporal Will Jordan of the Putnam County Sheriff's Department will be leading a prison tour trip scheduled for January 29th. There is no cost for your student's attendance. This is an excellent opportunity for your student to see and experience a tour that could impact future decisions. To attend this tour, students must be signed up by a parent via the blue card. Anyone who signs up will receive more information about a meeting time and waiver forms. Men Opportunities Men’s Group – Wednesdays Our men’s group meets every Wednesday evening at 7PM. Meet in the sanctuary at 6:45PM for worship and then you will be dismissed to meet in the Green Room at 7:00PM. Manly Meals – 1/19 On the third Tuesday of the month men of all ages gather at for lunch and fellowship at various restaurants around the area. We will be meeting at Five Guys Burgers and Fries January 19 th ! Ron Foster will be our speaker for the luncheon. If you are interested in singing in the choir mark your blue card or contact Pastor Mandy. Beginner's Sign Language 8-week Class – 1/12 Our free basic sign language class begins Tuesday, January 12th from 7:00PM-8:30PM. Those who want to attend mark your blue card if you haven't already done so. The class will be taught by Debbie Meadows. Free Retirement Planning Seminar – 1/14 On Thursday, January 14th from 7:00PM-8:30PM, TVCOG will host the Horizon Financial Group, a Christian financial consulting business in a free seminar on retirement planning. Topics include severance / buy out, 401K options, pension plans, health plan options, social security and other information. To register for this free seminar mark your blue card. A Night to Remember Married and engaged couples join us on Saturday, February 13th for "A Night to Remember." The evening will be held at the Winfield Senior Center and will feature a delicious meal and lots of laughs. The cost is $15.00 per person. Secure your sitter now and plan to join us for a wonderful evening of food and fellowship. Children's Pastor Search Update We are pleased to announce that we have a children's pastor candidate coming for a formal interview on Sunday afternoon January 3. If that goes well we will move forward with a candidating weekend within a short amount of time. The candidate's resume' is on the Welcome Desk and her name will be released once a candidating weekend is announced. Visitation Team Volunteers Needed We are in need of more folks to join our visitation team. If you could make a visit once a week (or more) to someone who is home bound, in a nursing home or in the hospital please sign your blue card.
