1 Introduction

1.1 Description

ZWA-G120 Access Point from Zinwell delivers the freedom to install your wireless network in your way. The state-of-the-art wireless technology gives you the ability to set up workstations in ways you never thought possible, no expensive cables and difficult installation procedure. ZWA-G120 is fully complied with IEEE802.11g, providing connections on the 2.4GHz frequency band, and delivers up to 54Mbps wireless speed. The ZWA-G120 features WPA and 64/128-bit WEP Encryption to provide an enhanced level of security for wireless connection. It provides users the benefit of keeping the wireless connection safe from unauthorized access. When all these features come together in one lightweight, compact, and powerful unit, ZWA-G120 will be the best choice for setting up your first wireless network or extending the range of an existing wireless network.

2 Hardware Installation This chapter guides you quickly and properly installs the ZWA-G120. Please read this chapter before you installs this device. To ensure getting a better connectivity, the selection of an optimum location is important. Try to place the ZWA-G120 on a flat, sturdy surface as far from the ground as possible, such as on a desktop.

2.1 Packing List

Before you start to install this device, make sure the package should contain the following items: Wireless Access Point unit * 1 RJ-45 Cable * 1 Power Adapter * 1

2.2 Back Panel Connector Guide

Firstly, connect the included RJ-45 cable to the ZWA-G120. Then, connect the other end of the RJ-45 cable to a hub or switch. The ZWA-G120 will then be connected to your existing network. Finally, plug the AC power Adapter to the ZWA-G120’s Power port. (Please refer to the

LAN Port is for connecting to the LAN device.

Reset Button to restore the ZWA-G120 to its originalfactory default settings.

Note : Please use our included power Adapter; use a different adapter may result in product damage.

2.3 LED Indicator

The ZWA-G120 has three LED lights for status indication the LAN, Tx/Rx (WLAN) light, and a power light. Please refer to the following figure:

A solid light indicates a proper connection to the power Adapter.

3 Software Configuration

3.1 Enter Web Configuration Page

The default IP Address for ZWA-G120 is 192.168.2.254. The default IP address for Subnet Mask is 255.255.255.0. 1. You need to configure your PC’s TCP/IP setting to access the ZWA-G120.

For example: • IP address 192.168.2.X (X must between 1 to 253 that is not used by another device) • Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0 2. After you had configured your PC’s TCP/IP setting, you may need to reboot your PC to

finish the network configuration when your OS ask you to do that such as Win98. 3. First, open a web browser and then enter the IP address of the ZWA-G120:

http://192.168.2.254 Then, you can enter the ZWA-G120’s web configuration page.

3.2 Wireless Basic Settings

This page is used to configure the parameters for wireless LAN clients who may connect to your ZWA-G120. Here you may change wireless basic settings as well as wireless network parameters. Field Description Service Set ID (SSID) Wireless Network Name

After you change the default value, the system will ask you to reboot. Click the “Reboot” bottom to restart the system.

3.3 Wireless Security Setup

This page allows you setup the wireless security. Turn on WEP or WPA by using Encryption Keys could prevent any unauthorized access to your wireless network. To enable security, select the desired security mode (WEP or WPA) from the AP setup page and click Setup to enter the keys. You can select either one the security your WLAN environment. Please follow the below chapter to configure the WPA or WEP security setting.

3.3.1 WPA Security Setting

3.3.2 WEP Security Setting

Selects the WEP key format, ASCII or Hex

Pass Phrase used to generate the WEP keys. Click the Generate button to generate the keys.

3.4 Wireless Access Control

If you enable “Access association requests from any station”, all clients will be able to connect to your ZWA-G120. When this option is disabled, only MAC addresses are in the access control list will be able to connect to your ZWA-G120. You can have 32 set lists to control the clients who will be connected to the ZWA-G120. Just click the checkbox to enable the access control function and key the MAC address you allow to access.

3.5 Association Table

This table shows the MAC address, transmission, receptions packet counters and encrypted status for each associated wireless client.

3.6 LAN Interface Setup

This page is used to configure the parameters for local area network which connects to the LAN port of your ZWA-G120. Here you may change the setting such as IP address, subnet mask, DHCP, etc... If you want to use “Enable DHCP” function, you should very carefully and you should know which IP Address the ZWA-G120 will get. After you select the “Enable DHCP” and you don’t know which IP address you can access the ZWA-G120 WEB configuration page, then you can restore the ZWA-G120 to its original factory default settings, presses “Reset Button” for 4 seconds.)

3.7 Upgrade Firmware

We don’t suggest upgrading the firmware only if you have problems and you are very sure that the new firmware version will solve your problems. Careless upgrade may result to more problems with the Access Point.
