Basic Design for ZS Centrifuge Reducers

• Flange mount casing to be fixed to the bowl

• Output shaft with spline DIN 5480 to drive the screw conveyor

• No radial load should affect the output shaft

• Input shaft with external bearings for high radial load capacity

• Grease lubrication for sizes 610 to 619

• Oil bath or oil circulation for size 610 to 626

The Function of Sumitomo Centrifuge Reducers

Sumitomo centrifuge reducers provide the differential speed bet-ween the bowl and the conveyor and the torque for the conveyor. The perfectly balanced housing is connected with the bowl and turns at the bowl speed. The output shaft of the centrifuge reducer is con-nected to the conveyor and transmits the torque which is needed for the solids transport. The input shaft can be locked by a torque arm or driven by a back-drive motor to provide the necessary relative speed.

The flexible lubrication system allows grease lubrication as well asoil lubrication according to the customer‘s requirements.Mounting dimensions can be designed to fit into all applications.

There are four different main types available that allow all kinds of drive systems for each application.

ZS as single stage Cyclo Drive centrifuge reducer for most applications when the conveyor turns faster than the bowl.

ZSPN and ZSPV are double stage centrifuge reducers with a Cyclo Drive stage and a planetary stage for higher ratios. ZSPN provides the conveyor slower than the bowl; ZSPV provides the conveyor faster than the bowl.

ZSPR is a very special double stage centrifuge reducer with a Cyclo Drive stage and a differential planetary stage. This version allows variable relative speed over the full control range of the motor with slower as well as faster conveyor.

Also available are purely planetary centrifuge reducers ZSP as doublestage and triple stage design.These are mainly used for applica-tions with high bowl speed and high differential speed.
