Requirements The client required a ZigBee-enabled thermostat as part of a Home Area Networking solution, which would give utility companies access to live and historical data in order to provide demand response solutions. The SoftDEL Solution • Understood the ZigBee protocol and related smart energy specifications. • Designed and implemented ZigBee based applications on the embedded RTOS. • Designed and implemented a communication interface between the host Renesas microcontroller and network co-processor chip using EZSP-SPI communication protocol. • Carried out testing for the thermostat and the ZigBee interface to prepare for ZigBee certification.
