MATERIALS

• 824-204 Lion Brand Da Vinci Yarn: Wine

  13 17, 20 Balls• Lion Brand Knitting Needles- Size 13 [9 mm]

• Lion Brand Large-Eye Blunt Needles (Set of 6)

• Additional Materials

Circular knitting needle size 11 (8 mm), 40 in. (101.5 cm) long

GAUGE:

9 sts + 14 rows = about 4 in. (10 cm) in St st (k on RS, p on WS). BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE.

When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the

materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4

in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger

size hook or needles.

STITCH EXPLANATION:

K2, p2 Rib (worked over a multiple of 4 sts + 2 sts)

Row 1 (RS): K2, *p2, k2; rep from * to end of row.

Row 2: K the knit sts, and p the purl sts.

Rep Row 2 for K2, p2 Rib.

NOTES:

1. Cardi is made of 5 pieces; Back, Right and Left Fronts, and Sleeves.

2. The Sleeves are worked with shoulder extensions that will increase the depth of the armhole. The

sides of each extension are sewn to the Back and Fronts to form the shoulders.

3. Back and Fronts of Cardi are shaped by working decreases.4. The Sleeve Cap (the upper portion of the Sleeve) is designed with a different measurement and is

shaped differently than the Front and Back armholes. This slight difference allows the cap to fit

smoothly into the armhole when pieces are sewed together.

5. When you see '0' in an instruction, this means that for that size, you should not work any sts, just

proceed to the next instruction.

6. When you see 'work even' in the instructions, this means to continue without changing the st count

by increasing, decreasing, or binding off.
