Srinagar, May 25:After the situation worsened in North Kashmir’s Kalaroos area in Kupwara, government imposed curfew like restrictions in the area hours after the news that the person in-jured in group clashes on May 16 died in a Srinagar hospital. After the results of the Lok Sabha polls were made public on May 16, serious clashes between the supporters of two different parties erupted in Kupwara area due to which some 15 persons were injured. Reports informed that the sup-porters of the winning party were cele-brating in the area during with a verbal dual between them and the opposition party started. The situation later took the ugly turn when both sides started at-tacking each other with stones and axes. The injured were later referred to the district hospital for the treatment. Med-icos later shifted a 42 year old Moham-mad Shafi Ganie to Srinagar hospital for further treatment.

needy civiliansSrinagar, May 25: Under `Op-eration Sadbhavana’, Tiger Hill Brigade initiated a noble projects called ‘OP SAHYOG’ in April 2014, wherein two unfortunate persons were identified and treated for ar-tificial limbs. According to the statement issued to KNS, during rou-tine interaction with the locals of the area, S Karma Rinchen, a resident of Skur-buchan (a remote village in Leh district) was identified. He had lost his right arm in a gruesome land slide in Au-gust 2010. He has a family of nine members, with meager income to support them. Also identified was Miss Zora Banoo aged 27 years resident of Chullichang (a remote village in Kargil dis-trict) who was suffering from ‘Right Knee Amputation Lower Limb’. She had met with an accident when she was just two years old and had to undergo amputation. She was earlier provided with an artificial limb un-der Operation Sadbhavana, but with passage of time, it has become unusable and re-quired replacement. Under the overall aegis of Tiger Hill Brigade, Artifi-cial Limb Centre, Pune was approached for fitting of prosthetic limbs in both the cases. Both persons were sent alongwith attendants to Pune for their further med-ical treatment on 25 April 2014.
