His famous quote, "Swaraj is my birthright, and I shall have it!"

Tilak started the Mara-thi weekly, Kesari in 1880 with Gopal Ganesh Agarkar as the first edi-tor. Kesari later became a daily and continues pub-lication to this day.

Political career Tilak joined the Indian National Congress in 1890. He opposed its moderate attitude, especially to-wards the fight for self-government. He was one of the most-eminent radicals at the time. Achievements :-

• The Kesari is still published as a daily newspaper in Marathi.

• The Deccan Educa-tion Society that Tilak founded with others in the 1880s still runs as the much respected Institu-tions in Pune like the Fergusson College. • The Public Ganesh festival (Ganeshotsav) has become a cenral part of the culture of Mara-thi Hindu communities throughout the world. Increasingly, other Hin-du communities are also adopting the practice. • Because of Tilak's efforts, Shivaji, the found-er of Maratha Empire is the only figure from that era revered by contem po-rary Marathi masses and Hindu nationalist parties like the Shivsena.

• The Swadeshi movement started by Tilak at the beginning of the 20th century became part of the Independence movement until that goal was achieved in 1947.

Challenges,Our Strengths & Approach

Challenges :1) Overall negative mind set in the country about our future, many youngsters wants to settle in abroad for a better future. Lack of Aggressive & Positive Marketing Strategy about India.2) The Fourth Industrial Revolution is near. It will be led by water, environmental technologies, genomics, nano-technology, robotics and space technology. India missed the first threeindustrial revolutions. India has good prospect of taking a lead role in the fourth industrial revolution. Will have to develop infrastructure to support the growth.3) In 2001 India’s population of 1000 million was divided between 170 millions in the market and 830 millions in the periphery. In 2011 the numbers will be 320 millions in the market and 880 millions in the periphery out of the total population of 1200 million. 4) A small hope is denied. Out of 630,000 villages in India, almost 500,000 villages do not have high schools. Children in these villages are deprived of the opportunity of completing their education. Besides, the national drop-out ratio is 70% even though the primary school enrolment ratio in most states is above 90%. Those kids want is a small hope for their life – to obtain education and find employment.5) The world is moving beyond success, sectarianism and sovereignty. The most progressive parts of the world, such as Europe, Japan, increasingly sections of population in Turkey, China, the United States, Singapore and several other countries are throwing away age old concepts of success, sectarianism and sovereignty. In many such societies life is measured by ‘right or wrong’ rather than ‘success or failure’. 6) 50% of the country’s children without nutrition, thousands of farmers who commit suicide 7) About 47% Graduates are unemployable for any job in India.8) We need to channelize Youth Anger in constructive and positive way.9) India’s GDP growth is on a slower rate than it’s potential

Our Strengths :1) Over 50% Population belongs to Youth Category2) We have around 60% Land available for Agriculture to feed our population, most of the countries are not lucky like us.3) Our Democracy ,Constitution, Basic Available Infrastructure are our strengths4) India is blessed with Natural resources, forests, minerals, beautiful sea coasts5) We have Educated,Smart, Intelligent, hardworking and dedicated professionals6) Our 120+ Cr plus population is our strength, we are a big potential market and an emerging global economy7) India emerging as a Medical Tourism Destination8) India has a potential to become a Global Education hub9) Indian Women are the backbone of India’s Economy, Her commitment to marriage & family Institution make Indian culture one of the greatest culture of the world.10) Indian Defence & Army

Our Approach :1) Develop Positive Mind Sets by executing Aggressive & Positive Marketing / Journalism Strategy to motivate Youngsters and give them better hopes.2) Meet max Positive People and connect them to increase the impact of their work.3) Initiate process to take advantage of 4th Industrial Revolution.4) Arrange lectures, seminar and Group Discussions in max colleges across India and Guide Youngsters.5) Promote Agriculture Business Benefits in Corporate World.6) Motivate, Appreciate and Support Government Organization, Officers to improve performance.

We will work on challenges and find solutions keeping our strengths and available resources in mind.

15th August 1947, The Day when Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of India took the charge from the British Government. The Sacrifice of lives of lacks of Indians resulted in India’s independence and we proud-ly say that. Our Country is an inde-pendent nation. But once a while it

must had come to every Indian’s mind that is India re-ally an independent nation ? When India got independence our nation was suffering from problems like poverty, illiteracy, unemployment , malnutrition, community issues etc but even today after 66years of independence we arefighting against almost same problems and many more.Independence doesn’t just mean walking freely in our country. When our freedom fighters fought against the British Government for more than 100 yrs to gain independence, they had some goals for India that the Indian Youth would be well educated to solve the problems of our nation and make India developed nation. The situation in India before & after Independence is almost same, before we were ruled by British and now we are ruled by few politicians and rich Indians. According to Mahatma Gandhi, Pandit Nehru, Bose, Babasaheb Ambedkar the meaning of the Independent India was equality, unity and development. But today the problems like corruption, scams, increase in crime rate, female infanticide etc are becoming hindrance in day to day life of an Indian. In 1952, after 5 years of India’s independence Japan got it’s independence, still Japan has managed to become developed nation and we are still a developing nation. After graduation our intelligent and scholar doctors, engineers, lawyers etc go abroad for further studies and settle their earning a big fat salary package, then once in a while those NRIs (Non Returning Indians ) come to visit their relative and point towards India saying, “ This condition of India will never change.” To such NRIs I would like to ask, “ What are you doing toim-prove the condition ? “ Today when we are stepping our foot in the 67th year of Independence, it’s time for the Youngsters to see a dream of making India not just a developed nation but a Superpower, it’s time for us to stop youngsters being greedy for the lavish big fat salary pack abroad and we should use our knowledge to solve the difficulties of India. Only then India would become independent in true sense !

By Karishma Wadhe ( Law Student ) VOICE 1 – Is India really an Independent Nation ?

YUVA VOICEThis is a platform for Youngsters. We must listen & answer them. We will have to utilize our Yuva energy more efficiently for India's Development.

6

VOICE 3 Gaurav S (B.E.)1)Everyone must VOTE.2)We should haveentrance test in politics ...which tests the ability of the candidate on his knowledge of Indian constitution..not very complex but enough to filter out all the hopeless candidates

VOICE 5 Sukumar (PGDM Student ) Presently most of the youths, want to eradicate corruption and clear our present administrative system(Government). In order to do so the youths should be capable enough to be in the system for the eradication of corruption and transparency in the administrative services provided by the government to the citizens. The youth should be more encouraged to help government in implementing government projects (Business process re-engineering) to set up a high standard of services towards he citi-

zen. The best way to do so is to participate in e-governance project. As most of the e-gov-ernance project fails due to improper handling and limited resources..

VOICE 2 – Ashish Kalkar ( Architect )1. Improve entrepreneurship - we should focus on nurturing young and dynamic talents and make them 'global leaders' rather than limiting their dreams to just going abroad and use their skills to improve outside com-panies. It needs tapping the right talent from grassroot level.2. Clean our system to make it work fast and efficiently with transparancy - all approvals/licenses/special permissions etc. Should be channelized through one window system, strictly online, available to all on websites and the process should be time bound.3. Prepare a model of country's development that is strictly talent/skill/capability based. Remove columns of caste/religion/ethnicity etc. From all systems and remove quota system. To reach minority groups, prepare talent and knowledge exchange programs which are inclusiveness focused.

VOICE 4 Trupti (MBA)1. We should really know the candidates credentials n their agenda.2. Youngsters should

know about governments function-ing.
