RE: Recommendation for Dr Yue Xu as Environmental Scientist

To whom it may concern:

August 9, 2016

This recommendation for Yue Xu, Ph.D. is pleasingly being submitted to your offices. My acquaintance with Dr. Xu has been as an advisor, professor and research/teaching colleague for the past seven years. Any organization would be fortunate to obtain the services of such a organized, experienced and mature professional.

Over the past seven years, she has worked as a project manager for Paradigm International, Inc. and research associate/teaching assistant at Tulane University. In doctoral research, she published six research articles in the area of wastewater treatment, residual management (stabilization and disinfection), and wastewater disinfection (ultraviolet irradiation, peracetic acid and ferrate disinfection). Her dissertation produced a patent entitled,

Reimers, R.S., Englande, A.J., Xu, Y and Murray, N,K. December 1, 2015. "Utilization of Iron Salts to stabilize and/or Disinfect Biosolids." The Board of Educators of Tulane University, United States Patent Number 9,199,885.

In addition, she has directed projects on pilot studies on PAA disinfection of wastewater disinfection looking an endocrine disruption issues related to wetlands discharge. This project resulted in a paper and presentation at WEFTEC in 2015 and the conversion of incinerator ash into a soil or wetlands soil amender. It obvious that Yue has the experience of directing real world projects and developing innovative approaches in biosolids/environmental processing.

In summary, Dr. Xu has gained a lot of experience in refinement and assessment of innovative or existing process schemes. I emphatically support and respect her professional capability.
