PTFE GasketIdeal Gasket Solution for Higher Bolt Loads Equipment

PTFE Gasket is made of synthetic fluoropolymer of tetrafluoroethylene.It has highly resistant to chemicals, solvents, caustics and acids, except for alkali metals and fluorine gas. In addition, PTFE also has a very low surface energy and conforms to FDA regulations.PTFE gasket provides excellent sealing performance in corrosive environments.It can be used as flange gasket in the chemical industry, machine and equipment industry and piping.

Materials types● Virgin Teflon gaskets. Virgin Teflon gaskets are produced directly from pure material. They are used in the majority of general applications due to the most cost- effective type of PTFE material and possessing the greatest physical and electrical insulation properties.

● Filled Teflon gaskets. Filled Teflon gaskets are made from virgin PTFE material with an added substance to improve their sealing properties. Flexible Graphite GasketHigh Quality Sealing Material

Flexible graphite gasket is also called expanded graphite gasket. NBR (Nitrile-Butadiene Rubber), also known as Buna-N, is a copolymer of butadiene and acrylonitrile. This synthetic rubber material is resistant to various solvents, hydraulic fluids, animal and vegetable oils and aromatic fuels. In addition, The acrylonitrile content of nitrile sealing compounds varies considerably (18% to 50%) and influences the physical properties of the finished material. The higher the acrylonitrile content, the better the resistance to oil and fuel. Types

● Centering gasket (Style CG). Utilizes an external ring which accurately centers gasket on flange face. It provide an additional radial strength to prevent the gasket blow-out and acts as a compression stop. A general purpose gasket suitable for both flat face and raised face flanges.

● Centering gasket with inner ring (Style CGI). This style is similar to style CG, but it additionally consists of an inner ring. The outer ring is used for centering and the internal ring used as an additional compression limiting stop. The internal ring also serves as a barrier to protect the gasket from heat and corrosion.

● Reinforced spiral wound gasket (Style R). It is a basic configuration of spiral wound gasket. The Inner and outer diameters are reinforced with several plies of metal without filler to give greater stability and better compression and sealing characteristics.

● Reinforced inner ring spiral wound gasket (Style RIR). This style of the gasket, the solid inner metal ring acts as a compression stop and fills the annular space between flange bore and the inside diameter of the gasket. It is designed to prevent accumulation of solids, reduce turbulent flow of process fluids and minimize erosion at flange faces.

Types

● Single jacketed gasket. This type of gasket is used in air tool applications and engine applications where space is limited, gasket seating surfaces are narrow and relatively low compressive forces are available for seating the gasket.

● Single jacketed overlap. Construction of this gasket offers more filler protection than the standard single jacketed design. It is especially useful for applications where the radial dimensions do not allow space for a double jacketed gasket.

● Double jacketed gasket. Double-jacketed gaskets are probably the most commonly used style of gaskets in heat exchanger applications. They are also extensively used in standard flanges. Since most double-jacketed gaskets are custom made, there is virtually no limit to size, shape or configuration.

● Double jacketed corrugated gasket. The double jacketed corrugated gasket is an improvement on a plain-jacketed gasket. The corrugations on the gasket will provide an additional labyrinth seal. Enhancing its compressive characteristics. Main sealing performance of double-jacketed corrugated gasket still relies on the inner lap.

● Double jacketed corrugated with corrugated metal filler. Double jacketed corrugated metal gasket with a corrugated metal filler can be beneficial at temperatures in excess of the range of 900 °F (483 °C) to 1000 °F (538 °C) where the standard soft filler is normally not recommended. This construction has the advantages of the double jacketed corrugated metal gasket and, in addition, since the filler material is normally same as the gasket, the upper temperature limit would be determined by the metal being used. This type of gasket, depending upon metal selected, is designed to be a heat exchanger gasket for high pressure and high temperature applications. gaskets are custm made, there is virtually no limit to size, shape or configuration.

● Double jacketed corrugated gasket.

The double-jacketed double-shelled gasket is similar to the double jacketed gasket. But it uses two shells in the

fabrication of the gasket instead of using a shell and a liner. It has the advantage of a double lap at both the ID

and the OD of the gasket, adding greater stability to the gasket. The construction will withstand higher

compressive loads. Double-shell gaskets are normally restricted to use in high pressure applications.

PTFE Sealing Tape is a Teflon film tape commonly used in plumbing for sealing pipe threads. Oil Seal normally consists of three basic components: the rubber sealing element, the metal insert (case) and the garter spring. The purpose of the sealing element is to stop the fluid from leaking between the shaft and housing. The metal insert will give rigidity and strength to the seal while it is being held in the bore or recessed groove. The garter spring will help make the rubber sealing element more effective.In precision bearings, oil seal helps prevent lubricants from escaping the bearings or a specific area. V seal is a solid all-rubber seal. The function of V seal is to exclude dust, dirt, water, oil splash or other aggressive contaminants from entering into the bearing housing while retaining grease.V seal is used on shafts. It works by stretching over the shaft to create a tight seal along the shaft while the flexible lip seals lightly against the counterface at a right angle to the shaft.In addition, V seal acts as flinger, since it rotates with the shaft and causes the lip to rotate against the housing or bearing. And as the speed increases, friction decreases due to centripetal force.What’ more, V seal can be utilized as either a primary or backup seal and perform an excellent sealing job.
