It can be used as a business solution for firms wishing to visualise news on a map. As our app gives a location and a sentiment to the city they could use this information in anyway they see fit.

Another possible use is just as a nifty way of browsing the news. So say you wanted the news from Madrid then you can click on the location and boom, you have the latest headlines from there.

Our program grabs the articles from RSS feeds. We can choose which ones, It then uses the Alchemy API to gain a location and sentiment from the article. We currently have a limitation of 1000 request per a day from Alchemy. It then sends it to a database which the client connects through via a server.

Future PlansIf we intent to take this further

this is what we shall do:

- Add a time stamp to show how up to date the feed is.

- Order the articles on how relevant they are.

- Better UI.- Continuously updating, so the bubble

grows and shrinks from second to second.- Possibly add a version of this to mobile

devices and use it as a news outlet.- Shade in the country as well as the

bubble.
