The Wedding at Cana John 2:1-11In the third day there was a wedding in Cana in

Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there.Jesus and hisdisciples were also invited to the wedding. When the wineran short, the mother of Jesus said to him, "They have nowine. (And ) Jesus said to her, "Woman, how does your concern affect me? My hour has not yet come . His mother said to the servers, "Do whatever he tells you."Now there

were six stone water jars there for Jewish ceremonialwashings, each holding twenty to thirty gallons. Jesus toldthem, "Fill the jars with water." So they filled them to thebrim. Then he told them, "Draw some out now and take it tothe headwaiter." So they took it. And when the headwaiter tasted the water that had become wine, without knowingwhere it came from (although the servers who had drawn thewater knew), the headwaiter called the bridegroom and saidto him, "Everyone serves good wine first, and then whenpeople have drunk freely, an inferior one; but you have keptthe good wine until now. Jesus did this as the beginning of his signs in Cana in Galilee and so revealed his glory, andhis disciples began to believe in him.

A group of graduates, well established in their careers,were discussing their lives at a class reunion. They decidedto go visit their old university professor, now retired, who

was always an inspiration to them.

D uring their visit, the conversation turned to complaintsabout stress in their work, lives and relationships.

W hen they all had a cup of hot chocolate in hand,the professor shared his thoughts.

N otice that all the nice looking, expensive cups weretaken, leaving behind the plain and cheap ones.

W hile it is normal for you to want only the best for yourselves,that is the source of your problems and stress.

The cup that you are drinking from adds nothing to thequality of the hot chocolate. In most cases it is just moreexpensive and in some cases even hides what we drink.

W hat each of you really wanted was hot chocolate.You did not want the cup . . .

but you consciously went for the best cups.

And soon, you began to eye one another s cups.

N ow friends, please consider this . . .

L ife is the hot chocolate . . .your job, money and position in society are the cups.

They are just tools to hold and contain life.

The cup you have does not define,nor does it change, the quality of life you are living.

Sometimes, by concentrating only on the cup,we fail to enjoy the hot chocolate God has provided us.

Always remember this . . . . . . . . . .God brews the hot chocolate, He does not choose the cup.

The happiest people don't have the best of everything.

They just make the best of everything that they have!!

Care deeply . . .Speak kindly . . .
