Description of the activity:

NSS Unit of GVPCE(A) of GVP College of Engineering (A) has observed WORLD HEALTH

DAY through HEALTH AWARENESS PROGRAMME in association with GVP Institute of

Health care and Medical Technology today in the GVP College of Engineering (A) Auditorium

from 3:30 pm to 6:00 pm

Dr B Dharma Rao, MD General Medicine and HEAD of Medicine department is the speaker of

the day. He has addressed faculty staff and students of the college on the Theme of BEAT –

DIABETES. Later there was interaction session with the team of doctors presided over by Dr TS

Prasad Medical Superintendent, GVP Health Institute and Medical Technology...

Nirmana Deeskha/ 2016-17 dated 10-06-2016, the compliance report of the

observance of Nava Nirmana Deeksha is herewith submitted for your kind

consideration.

The event is organized by student volunteers under National Service Scheme of

CFSR of GVP College of Engineering (A) on the day of starting of the college

i.e., 13th

June 2016.

The details of the program are furnished in this document.

Date: 13-06-2016 Venue: Smart Class Room CSE Dept Total number of students participated: 27 As the first step registrations were taken from students and they were initially

given an awareness on the Nava Nirmana Deeksha. Later students were asked to

As per the directions from you i.e., NSS Cell JNTUK, NSS unit of our college under the umbrella

of CFSR - centre for fostering social responsibility has organized VANAM – MANAM program

on 29-07-2016. Student volunteers have taken up a rally first and then planted saplings near main

gate. Our horti-culturalist guided the students in proper plantation.

Respected Principals/NSS Programme Officers,

You are aware that the Government of Andhra Pradesh has launched ‘Vanam – Manam’ programme for plantation of crores of plants in the State so as to make the State as ‘Haritha Andhra Pradesh’. As part of this

initiative, the Government of Andhra Pradesh plans to plant one crore plant on single day, i.e., on 29th July 2016.

It is in this context, I am by direction of the Government to request you to arrange to organize the ‘Vanam-Manam’ programme on 29th July

2016 in the University Campus involving NSS, NCC and other relevant organizations, Teaching and Non-teaching Staff, Students and Research

Scholars and their parents for plantation of plants with an aim to plant atleast one plant by each. The plants may be planted in such a way that those can be geo tagged. Forest Department will provide the necessary

support.

Further, you are requested to take up the plantation programme throughout the year in a suitable manner, with proper planning,

implementation and follow up. Proper planning and guidance may be taken from the local forest officers and the district Collector, wherever required.

You are also requested to furnish weekly progress report to JNTUK NSS Office.

The rainy season must be taken advantage of and timely plantation activity be taken up to fulfill target of making the State as “Haritha Andhra Pradesh”.

Kindly place the photographs of the plantation programme on 29th July 2016 on the University website so as to inspire the public as a whole to plant crores of plants in the State.

Finally, you are requested to send a detailed report with details of

number of plants planted and the places on 29th July 2016 along with

photographs with in 2 or 4 days.

A one day workshop is organized on DIGITAL INDIA to create awareness on digital initiatives

taken up by Government. Some of the initiatives are Digi locker, Digital Literacy etc.. A skit

competition is also conducted and volunteers have played a skit on importance of Digi Locker.

The College encourages the students’ involvement in various community engagement

programmes. Also we step forward in promoting the initiatives taken up at central level and

state level. It is really inspiring to every citizen, students in particular that such awareness

campaigns are a need of the hour. Already we are in the process of creating awareness

ATLEAST ONE BANK ACCOUNT PER FAMILY

b) Motivating to go for applying for obtaining – RUPAY CARD

c) Meeting with Bank Manager – SWIPE MACHINE IS SHOWN AND DISCUSSED WITH

VILLAGERS

d) Volunteers facilitated the villagers to fill the forms with the help of bank pass books –

photo graphs

e) A consent from bank is also made available to villagers – SIGNATURE AS WELL AS

THUMB IMPRESSION SHALL BE ALLOWED FOR ISSUE OF RUPAY CARDS

f) Totally 70 houses were surveyed

5. Further Course of action:

a) To again visit village and motivate villagers to get RUPAY Cards

b) Create one – to-one awareness on usage of MONEY TRANSACTIONS viz., cell phone

both with and without internet

c) Create awareness among faculty – staff and students in the college.
