Cultured 28 September - 08 October Palmse, Estonia Let’s get Youth exchange Description Nowadays young people tend to forget their cultural backgrounds due to the pace of progress in the last decades. Experience in the youth sector and project management have showed that unfortunately it is very rare when newcomers to such international projects have solid knowledge about other cultures, usually its limit lays within the stereotypes, rather than aspects of culture. "Let’s get cultured" is a youth exchange that will connect young people from 8 European countries (Estonia, Macedonia, Spain, Austria, Hungary, Czech Republic, Turkey and Lithuania) to explore traditional cultures and celebrate diversity of cultures in Europe. The working schedule of the youth exchange will consist of various practical and active workshops devoted to dances, national stories/legends/fairytales, traditional games and music, traditions of important celebrations like Christmas, Easter, wedding and cuisine.

Description

Profile of participants

Most convenient arr ival point is Tal l inn international airport. Other and usually cheaper options are: Helsinki airport (2.5 h by ferry to Tallinn, one-way ferry can cost 15-50EUR), Riga airport (4.5-5h to Tallinn via bus, one-way trip is around 12-15EUR ). You have to arrive in Tallinn no later than 17:30 and depart not sooner than 11:00 as there will be organized bus Tallinn-Palmse-Tallinn. Any proposals for making the stay longer, must be consulted with the organizers. Only after you send us your travel plan and receive permission, you can proceed to buying tickets.

Travel costs will be covered according to the funding rules of Erasmus+ Programme based on Erasmus+ distance calculator as follows:

Reimbursement

*Preliminary 10EUR per participant will be cut for organized transport (Tallinn-Palmse-Tallinn)

70% of your travel cost will be reimbursed in cash during the youth exchange, 30% of will be transferred to bank account of your organisation or group leader after we receive all original travel documents by post and a report of carried out dissemination activities.

This youth exchange is designed for motivated young people that are interested to work on the topic of culture, deepen their knowledge, and who care about keeping cultural traditions alive. During selection process the priority will be given to participants that have never participated in Erasmus+ programme. The age frame is 17-25 years old.
