FELLOWSHIP MEALS WILL NOT TAKE PLACE THIS WEDNESDAY
OR NEXT WEDNESDAY
The 2017 Fellowship Meal year has come to an end. What a fun year for
Fellowship Meals! Thank you to everyone who sponsored a meal, and to all who attended the meals.
Many delicious dinners, and fun
were had in 2017.
Fellowship Meals will resume on January 3, 2018.
Karen and Linaya Kolke will be hosting this first Fellowship Meal
of the New Year!
There are still three slots available in January to host a meal. Sign up on
the poster in the narthex if you
would like to host.
A Note from the Altar Guild: We are in need of more volunteers to help maintain our beautiful altar. The Altar Guild has lost a number of members this year for different reasons and those members are greatly missed. With the new year upon us we are praying for a few more volunteers. This is an amazing way to serve our Lord and our congregation. It is also a wonderfully spiritual time with God. Time requirements are approximately 30 minutes per week, 1 or 2 months out of the year. The more members we have, the less work there is to do for everyone and volunteer time will decrease.
To become a member of the Altar Guild, or for more information contact D’Lorah Gothard (505) 463-0583 or by email at [email protected]
Attend Our Stephen Ministry
Introductory Workshop With so many needs for care all around us, there is a real demand for
trained Stephen Ministers to walk with hurting people. In fact, as more
people learn about the value of Stephen Ministry, the demand is likely to
keep growing.
If you have thought about the possibility of becoming a Stephen Minister
and would like to know more, mark January 27, 2018 on your calendar.
That is when Christ Lutheran Church will host a Stephen Ministry
Introductory Workshop. This workshop will describe what Stephen
Ministry is and will offer a sample of Stephen Minister training. Members of
Christ Lutheran are welcome to attend at no cost. The Workshop begins at
9:00 a.m. and ends at 1:00 p.m. in the Parish Hall. Check-in starts at 8:00
a.m. Feel free to share the information with friends in other congregations,
as well as Christ Lutheran members you know who might be good Ste-
phen Ministers. Talk to a Stephen Leader for registration instructions.
If you would like to receive care from a Stephen Minister, talk to Pastor
Groeling or one of our Stephen Leaders. If you know someone who would
benefit from a Stephen Minister’s care, encourage that person to request a
Stephen Minister from our Pastor or Stephen Leaders, or ask for his or her
permission to make the request yourself.
To sign up, or for more information, contact any
of our current Stephen Leaders:
Sue Dragan 505-615-4862
Cheryl Frazine 575-430-7166
Leslie Helge 505-280-4283
Jerry Shroff 505-463-2447
David Yocky 505-280-0455
Pastor Groeling 505-884-3876
We are still in need of a volunteer to fill our Head Usher
vacancy, and a volunteer to coordinate the usher
schedule each month. We would like to have both
positions filled by the end of December.
Please contact the church office for more information.
Thank you in advance for prayerfully
considering these opportunities.
STAFF GIFTS It is our tradition here at Christ Lutheran Church and
School to present our staff with
gifts for Christmas. In order to
continue this Christmas custom,
we ask our members for assistance.
If you would like to contribute to
this tradition, we request that all
monetary gifts be given to a Lay
Minister by Wednesday, December
20th. Your generosity is greatly
appreciated. We will present these
gifts to our staff on Christmas Eve morning. Thank you.
Pick up your copy of the new Portals of Prayer.
Located in the narthex.
2018 FLOWER CHART
The new flower chart for 2018 is here and
ready for flower dedications. Thank you
to everyone who dedicates altar
flowers each week.
From the Board of
Human Care
Thank you to all who have helped the Board of Human
Care collect items for God Cares About You. Knit tops will be distributed on Tuesday, December 19 to adults who are participating in the Back to Work Program.
Stockings with coloring books, hygiene items, soccer balls, blankets, and sweat shirts will be given out at the Children’s Program on Friday, December 22. Those who attend the Christmas Eve afternoon service will select toys and clothing following the service. If you would like to contribute toys and/or clothing for the Christmas Eve service, please bring the items to church by next Sunday morning (December 24) , or come to
the service at 2:00 p.m. and bring them with you.
2018 Offering Envelopes
are here and may be
collected in the narthex.
After today envelopes will be re-
located to your church mailbox.
