Your who, what, where and sometimes why guide to camping at Poor Farmer’s RV
The Monthly Chatter

Issue 11

New Format! The loss of my past chatters has presented me the
prospect of switching the script a bit. As I always say,
mistakes are just opportunities in disguise, and I’ve
been watching quite a bit of Bob Ross, sooo… happy
accidents. I have also been throwing around some new
ideas for different articles that might break away from
the norm; such as, Hobo Junction Hijinks, How I Made
the Wife Mad or Guess the Beer. Of course, those are
just some rudimentary ideas that have passed through
brain cells that I like to call… the surviving few.
Sit back and see if you can navigate this new design
format. I promise it won’t be as confusing as Jimmy’s
blacked-out haunted maze.
I would like to thank all who camped, bought a camper or had your camper serviced at Poor Farmer’s RV. Your continued support for more than fifty years has made this campground what it is today. We have seen new faces and RVs come and go, but the memories made at Poor Farmer’s will last forever. We are honored to be part of those memories and inspired to give you a camping experience that is relaxing and comfortable for years to come.

Site of the Month

Campsite #
48 How do you reward the campers who did not
get their Site of the Month props in October
when they should have? You let them be the
first Site of the Month in the new format. I
mean look at this new style. It smells like a
new car.
Jeff and Angela migrated from Cottonwood to
Happy Hollow and found their dream campsite.
A spot that gives them beautiful views with the
morning sunrise and an openness that provides
plenty of space to entertain.
Their Coachmen Chaparral is accented with a
nicely built platform that is flanked by two
palm trees and is filled with welcoming seats.
Thank you, Jeff and Angela for making your
campsite one to admire and enjoy.
Poor Farmer’s is now the proud dealer of
Shasta travel trailers. Shasta has been
building RVs since 1941. After WWII the
RV industry took off. Before the war,
campers were usually homemade and very
unregulated, but once the soldiers returned
home, they all needed jobs. Campers
started being mass produced and
dealerships opened all over America. By
the 50’s, motorhomes started hitting the
streets and the RV craze was upon us. In 1959, Shasta introduced the most popular travel trailer
on the road. The “toaster-on-wheels” was recognizable by the wings which stood for flight and
freedom. Now Shasta offers 19 different travel trailer floorplans, two of which are toy haulers.
Poor Farmer’s RV is proud to offer Shasta to our customers. Check out what’s coming!

Ahh yes, it’s that time of the year again. Time to secure your knick-knacks, stow away your doo dads and
get those campers ready to move.
There is a schematic of the camping arrangement at the parts store. You can see what spot you are assigned
to and schedule to move or get moved. Please don’t move without me. As you have probably noticed, there
are a few who have already moved up. During the winter, these are the folks you will want to pay attention
to… they are called veterans.
Get scheduled to move soon! The water will be turned off on Tuesday, November 5th. The shower house
will be open all winter and the spicket out front will be accessible. BTW, please don’t park in front of the
spicket unless you are filling containers. Please be respectful of your neighbors. Remember that your
neighbors are much closer than normal and even though they are insulated, camper walls are still thin.
Please address all questions to the parts store or Mike. Let’s Go Polar Camping!
Bob! Where are
you? I can’t

I work very diligently at finding the perfect costume
judges on Halloween weekend. I conduct background
checks, credit checks and have even stalked a couple
people to ensure their character is pure.
Of course, that’s BS. I usually just have my regulars and
ask others to fill in if needed. These little guys to the
right, are two of the hundreds of reasons why I don’t
judge; because there can be only one and they are all
winners in my book.
Memphis got his bucket filled and was happy as a…
well, as happy as a kid on a big green tractor with a
bucket full of candy. To top it off, his good buddy Cacey
got a tractor as well. Now they can putt-putt all over the
campground together in their big green tractors.
Finding An Agent That’s Right For You
We would like to thank everyone who made Halloween Weekend a success. Thank you, Jimmy
Weaver and his crew, for setting up a fantastic haunted house. Your expertise and collection of props
topped the Halloween night off perfectly. Congratulations to all the costume contest participants who
won their age group or category. We had some cute kids and some super-scary monsters. They all
made for a great night of trick-or-treating. Thanks also to Jim and Doris, Rick and Valerie, Grant and
Vicki, Jeff and Brenda and everyone else who decorated their campsite. It was a spook-tacular time.
Paint Night Reveals
Hidden Talent Honestly, when it comes to talent, there are a few traits I have been
gifted with. On top of being a great golfer, a world class singer, and
the undisputed ping pong champion of the Till household; my most
redeeming quality is, for sure, my ability to manage. I manage to
keep my patience when Jaiden dismantles any and all electrical
components he is in possession of. I manage to keep the tears back
when I see one of those serviceman home-coming videos. I have
also managed to lose my coffee cup at least three times this week.
My most recently discovered talent can be defined as nothing other
than spectacular. Paula Bragg and the girls hosted another paint
night on October 12th. I wanted to see what the buzz was about since
the first paint night was such a success. In doing so, I realized that I
am super good at painting. I am not sure if it is because of all the
Bob Ross I have been watching lately or if Mrs. Sabo’s art class is
finally paying off. Either way, I’m pretty sure I’m the next Dutch
Boy. Thanks to Paula and all who participated with the paint night.
We have some very talented people at this campground.

Working at a campground can be one of the most
fun jobs you can have and just like any other job,
it has its cons. As much as I wish I could give all
my staff Saturdays off, I need them here to make
sure your weekend is comfortable and relaxing.
When Winter shows its teeth with cold weather,
annoying snow and slippery ice; there is one thing
that makes winter special… two-day weekends!
