Equipment Utilized for TestingPrimary Equipment MD Calibration utilizes the latest state of the art equipment such as the

Renishaw XL-80 Laser Interferometer system. We perform diagnostic services such as periodic error, angular lost motion,

thermal drift tests, linear positioning and XL-80 Laser System

compensation/optimization and backlash

tests. We also perform Rotary Axis Calibrations

utilizing the latest Renishaw

XR-20W Wireless Rotary

Calibrator.

Equipment Utilized for TestingThe Renishaw QC20W Ballbar is a dynamic test. In minutes a host of machine errors can be identified. Renishaw’s powerful software ranks the errors worst to best. Errors such as scaling error, servo mismatch, backlash, squareness and straightness are just several of the errors that can be identified with the Ballbar.

AA Grade Ceramic Master Squares are used to measure Straightness and Squareness of linear axes. In conjunction with a LVDT High Resolution and Accuracy Electronic Indicators, the measurement data is recorded and plotted on graphs.

The Mahr Federal Differential Electronic Levels complement the Renishaw Angular optics. The levels are used for parametric error testing for Angular Errors of Pitch, Yaw and Roll.

Equipment Utilized for TestingOur AG Davis Off-Axis Calibrator tests Trunnion mounted Spindles and Trunion mounted rotaries that are on or off the center of rotation. The AG Davis Off-Axis Calibrator is used in conjunction with the Mahr Federal Electronic Levels.

Spindle Vibration Analysis is performed using a GTI Spindle IPAD with High accuracy accelerometer. The Vibration Analyzer tests for errors such as spindle imbalance, spindle alignment and spindle bearings.

MD Calibrations can also perform other spindle tests with our Lion Precision Spindle Error Analysis system. Fixed radial, rotating radial, axial, Temperature Variation Error (TVE), Environmental Temperature Variation Error (ETVE) and FFT analysis can be performed.

Reports MD Calibrations provides full test documentation in accordance with ISO

requirements. While supplying copies of all test results. We also provide ISO230 summery reports for each axis tested identifying ISO compliant test parameters. Machine Backup of parameters and all documentation is provided on a electronic copy for future reference.
