CASE STUDY – MUSCLE PAIN

Self-employed male doing manual work. For 4 years the man had chron-ic pain in the trapezius, in the area of T10. The pain was present during periods of inactivity, but it became severe while he was working. He started treatments with the Delta Low-level laser in July 2011. Within the first month of treatment, the man’s pain had substantially improved; after the second month the pain resolved.

The Delta stimulates pain-relieving and healing across cells, tissues and organs throughout your body. The effects of lasers have been shown to continue long after treatments have stopped.

Many functions within cells are activated by light stimulus to receptors called photoreceptors. Key photoreceptors within cells are the mitochon-dria. These are the powerhouse of the cell, because they are responsible for producing ATP, the fuel of a cell, plus a host of other cellular responses.

The regenerative and pain-relieving actions of coMra act on more than one area. They also spread throughout the body, as a result of processes of intercellular communication called signal transduction.

For example, one of the proven actions of laser light in cells is the production of growth factors. In wound healing, growth factors send signals, attracting immune cells and proteins to a wound, as well as other important cells like those needed to form new connective tissue and new blood vessels.

Laser light also stimulates various other different signals to encourage heal-ing. Some of these are transmitted widely in the body by nerve and endo-crine cells, as shown in the diagram on the right.

The top image (Synaptic Signal), shows a nerve cell communicating through the release of neurotransmitters, and on the bottom image (Endo-crine Signal), we can see how signaling hormones from an endocrine cell are released into the bloodstream, where they are carried to cells in areas where healing is required.

CASE STUDY – LIFE-LONG MIGRAINE

A 57-year old lady suffered severe migraine attacks all her life (since child-hood). She experienced attacks 2-3 times a month. CASE STUDY – TORN LIGAMENTSI dislocated my knee in a rugby game. My ACL, PCL and MCL ligaments were completely torn through and the Meniscus Cartilage was torn all the way around. I was seriously worried if I would ever be able to walk properly again let alone keep fit. The surgeon said that it was the worst case of its type that he had ever seen, and the doctor on the scene of the injury told me that I would probably only see a significant improvement after seven months. After an operation to attach the ligaments to my knee with metal screws, I started using the Delta as well as a disciplined physio routine. Throughout I was amazed to find that I had virtually no pain. My physio was also very impressed, and after only five months I am walking and cycling normally with very little discomfort.

Many different cellular processes are involved in healing and pain relief. Through the regeneration of cells it is possible to relieve a wide vari-ety of different types of pain. A:This was because of my own illness. It started back in 2000 and got to the point of the discs between L4 and L5 being completely crushed. I could hardly walk and due to lack of innervation the muscles of my left leg atrophied: it became very thin. I was recommended surgery, but there is a very high risk – about 50% – of failure and subsequent paralysis, so I said no. I went through all sorts of physiotherapy, you know, no doors were closed to me, but to no avail.

The regenerative abilities of low-level lasers play an important role in long-term pain relief. So many of our problems are the result of damaged cells.

When I tried the Delta Laser a couple of years ago, I could not complete the first treatment because I fell asleep from the sudden pain relief. After just a few days I could sleep peacefully at nights, with no drugs and soon my walking started to improve. I realised that as far as efficiency and speed are concerned, this new laser had no comparison with the previous one I had been treated with. After a couple of months I dropped using the stick and later even the numbness in my left foot, which had been a big problem while driving, greatly diminished.
