spirit

The iconic gateway to the W. P. Carey School of Business, the “Spirit” statue symbolizes the power of freedom. Through freedom, we are reminded that there are no limits as we shape ourselves into the individuals we are destined to become.

We invite you to get to know the men and women of W. P. Carey, and see where their spirit can take your organization.

Where will the next great idea come from? That’s something every business has to ask itself to stay competitive. And we think the same holds true for business schools.

At the W. P. Carey School of Business, we believe the world’s next great ideas will come from our students, the future leaders of our global economy. Your organization needs bold thinking, creative solutions, and adaptable talent that will make an impact on day one and every day after — and those are the kinds of students we attract.

How are we different? How does W. P. Carey prepare students for greatness? Arizona State University is the largest public university in the United States, and also one of the most forward-thinking. Our model of inclusion is revolutionizing

higher education, giving more students from more places more opportunities to shape their professional futures.

At the W. P. Carey School, that diversity is reflected in the experiences and motivation our students bring to classes, team projects, and entrepreneurial endeavors from more than 90 countries around the world. They are high achievers and include Fulbright Scholars, National Merit Scholars, and National Hispanic Scholars. And a large number are first-generation college students who understand that working hard and thinking outside of the box are key to generating the next great ideas.

As our President Michael Crow describes, “we create future leaders — a workforce of ‘master learners,’ adaptable and capable of learning anything, prepared so that they, their employers, and their communities can thrive in the workplace of the future.” In fact, a recent study conducted by Gallup, a leading U.S. polling organization, concluded that ASU alumni are significantly more likely to be employed, engaged in their jobs, and doing work that interests them than graduates of other universities.

Another way we are different is the areas of study a W. P. Carey student can explore. More than 25 business degree programs and dozens of student organizations build functional skills as well as leadership, teamwork, and communication. Our corporate partners help us keep our curriculum up-to-date and our students ready for the changes that will affect your organization sooner than later. And when that happens — you’ll need that next great idea.

Thank you for your interest in the W. P. Carey School of Business, and the passionate young leaders we’re so honored to cultivate.
