    Strategic Doing is a civic discipline to guide open innovation

    Launching and Revising a Strategic Action Plan

    for Collaborations

    By following the disciplines of Strategic Doing we generate astrategic action plan...Our first version (very rough) is an alpha plan,Our next plan is more complete (a beta plan). When we are readyto distribute our strategic action plan more widely, we launch with

    Version 1.0. Then comes versions 1.1; 1.2; 1.3 and so on...

    Moving around the StrategicDoing Cycle with Strategic

    Doing Packs

    Strategic conversations are difficult tokeep on track. We can use workshop

    exercises to make sure that we arefocusing our conversations on the

    critical components of our strategy:defining clear strategic outcomes;

    identifying partners who are alignedwith this outcome; creating clear

    initiative (or project) plans; makiingcommitments in an action plan; anddefining a process for continuous

    revision and refinement.

    We compile these workshopexercises into a document called a

    Strategic Doing Pack
