The ANA/IEG’s third-annual Members Only Conference will explore how marketers are elevating the role of sponsorships and event marketing within their marketing mix. This complimentary, client-side marketers only event will feature senior marketers and sponsorship leaders discussing the strategy and activation behind their cutting-edge programs. MasterCard has a history of success in sponsorship, with longtime relationships that include Major League Baseball, the PGA TOUR, NFL teams, the GRAMMY Awards and other rightsholders. In the past year, the company’s Priceless Cities program has maximized these and other partner relationships to create stronger connections with cardholders by providing them exclusive access and offers, as well as extraordinary experiences, connected to the things they are most passionate about, from sports and entertainment to travel and food. In December 2011, The Hertz Corporation announced their Hertz ‘Movin’ with Music’ program, a groundbreaking, multi-year sponsorship and marketing alliance with Live Nation Entertainment aimed at tapping into millions of music fans to drive market share and promote the Hertz brand. The Hertz/Live Nation partnership taps into virtually every facet of Live Nation Entertainment’s integrated marketing and eCommerce network, spanning every stage of the live entertainment experience from ticketing and concerts to mobile and social media. In this session, Jerry Preyss, vice president and chief creative officer – The Hertz Worldwide and Russell Wallach, president – Live Nation Network, will discuss how their partnership is driving consumer engagement for Hertz and exposing the brand to millions of fans before, during and after live music events. Jim Andrews is the senior vice president of content strategy at IEG, LLC. A 24-year industry veteran and a member of IEG’s executive committee, Mr. Andrews is responsible for developing and sharing IEG’s thought-leadership content with the sponsorship industry through periodicals, webinars, blogs, strategy papers, presentations and other media. In addition to his insights into the critical issues facing sponsors and rights holders, he oversees the agenda for the IEG Annual Sponsorship Conference, and is responsible for IEG’s annual report and forecast of overall sponsorship spending, as well as compilation of IEG’s list of biggest spending companies, and its surveys on industry compensation and the opinions of sponsorship decision-makers. A frequent guest on CNN, CNBC, Bloomberg TV and other media, Mr. Andrews has been a featured speaker at hundreds of sports, arts and marketing conferences around the world. He is a founding member of the advisory board for the Center for Sports Sponsorship & Sales of the Hankamer School of Business at Baylor University. Prior to joining IEG, he had a brief career as a newspaper reporter. He is the former chairman of the board of directors of Chicago’s About Face Theatre, and also serves on the board of the Chicago chapter of the National Sports Marketing Network. Mr. Andrews earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in journalism from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism.

William Clements is the vice president, sponsorships and sports marketing at Mars Chocolate North America. He currently manages more than 30 different sponsorships across the Mars business units and brands. Mr. Clements first joined the sponsorship team in 2000 and led the Mars NASCAR sponsorship for four years. In 2004, he was appointed director of sponsorships where he played an instrumental role in the negotiation, and activation, of several high profile partnerships, including the SNICKERS® Brand NFL and M&M’s® Brand NASCAR sponsorship. He was promoted to senior director of Mars properties in 2008, and again in 2010 to his current role. His career at Mars first began in 1991, and he’s served in a number of other critical roles throughout his tenure, including the customer care, finance and marketing functions across chocolate, food, and pet categories. Mr. Clements graduated from James Madison University, where he earned B.B.A. degrees in both finance and psychology.

Alison Giordano currently serves as vice president of U.S. sponsorships at MasterCard Worldwide. In this role, she is responsible for developing the strategic direction and managing the company’s sponsorship activities in the U.S. region. Among MasterCard’s sponsorship properties are the GRAMMYs, Major League Baseball, the PGA TOUR, the Arnold Palmer Invitational Presented by MasterCard, the New York Giants and Stand Up to Cancer. In the past year, Ms. Giordano led the team that negotiated merchant involvement in the Priceless New York program, which was designed to help drive preference and affection for the MasterCard brand by offering cardholders extraordinary experiences, exclusive offers and privileged access to enjoy the things they are most passionate about – travel, sports, shopping, culinary or arts and entertainment. Ms. Giordano originally joined MasterCard in 2004 to manage the activation of the 2006 FIFA World Cup sponsorship, including internal communications, brand and customer marketing activation and event execution. Since then she has held several roles in the global sponsorship organization, managing programs domestically and globally for several properties, including Major League Baseball, National Football League teams, Soundstage, Rugby World Cup and PGA European Tour. Prior to joining MasterCard, she held positions at WETA, a PBS affiliate, Cotter Group, ESPN and Momentum. Ms. Giordano earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia and a M.B.A from American University’s Kogod School of Business.

Jerry Preyss is the vice president and chief creative officer for Hertz Worldwide. At Hertz, he is responsible for global branding, customer and employee experience, innovation development, promotional programming, sponsorships and sustainability programs across all marketing and communications platforms. Some of his recent accomplishments include the transformative marketing program called Traveling at the Speed of Hertz; Living Journey, Hertz’ global sustainability initiative and the innovative partnership with Live Nation targeted at today’s Gen Y customer segment called Hertz Movin’ with Music. Mr. Preyss began his career at GE Lighting where he held positions in sales, marketing and strategic planning. There, he impacted revenues for consumer residential product lines marketed through a broad cross section of retail channels. He left GE to join Philips Electronics where he became vice president of marketing and sales for their lighting business. Mr. Preyss introduced the Philips brand in North America and was responsible for the launch of several new product lines that expanded Philips’ distribution across the U.S. into major retailers like Walmart, Home Depot and Kroger. He also oversaw their corporate sponsorships of the Olympics and World Cup soccer. Mr. Preyss left Philips to join Doner Advertising, at the time the country’s largest private advertising agency where he eventually became president. Mr. Preyss left Doner and started his own marketing agency specializing in entertainment and new product development called The Playground. His clients included Hasbro, MGA and Sony Entertainment. He sold the Playground to Bridge Worldwide, a Cincinnati-based digital platform agency with a heavy P&G portfolio. At Bridge, he was executive vice president and chief creative officer and was responsible for numerous new business wins and online. Mr. Preyss left Bridge to become president and chief executive officer of Refinery in Philadelphia, a digital agency specializing in healthcare and consumer brands that he later sold to WPP’s G2 unit in New York. He has won numerous industry awards including a Gold Lion at Cannes; two Gold Effie’s and is the 2011 recipient of the Hertz Global Leadership Award.

Shawn Quill leads KPMG’s efforts across sports marketing and in the channel of sponsorships as the director. KPMG’s golf platform includes player endorsements with PGA star Phil Mickelson and LPGA champion Stacy Lewis, tournament hospitality, and various other strategic investments. Mr. Quill has developed an innovative activation model that strategically integrates sponsorship assets into KPMG’s business in areas like advertising, direct marketing, cause marketing, event hospitality, account enhancement, trade shows and post-event relationship development. This model has delivered tremendous value for KPMG’s brand, revenue and relationships. Mr. Quill has a master’s in international communications from American University and a B.A. from Dickinson College.

Jennifer Storms serves as senior vice president of global sports marketing for PepsiCo, Inc. Ms. Storms is responsible for leading and evolving the company’s sports marketing vision and strategy for PepsiCo’s Power of One and global assets. In this new role, she is charged with developing and implementing a sports strategy that drives brand equity, consumer engagement and business growth. Ms. Storms most recently served as senior vice president of sports and event marketing for Gatorade, a division of PepsiCo. At Gatorade she served as the lead negotiator on PepsiCo’s renewal of a multi-billion dollar deal with the NFL, as well as successfully renewing partnerships with the NBA, MLS and many college and team properties. Ms. Storms’ solid leadership, vast sports knowledge and unparalleled media savvy have helped maximize the brand’s exposure in paid and earned media channels, and helped Gatorade move beyond the traditional sports sidelines to reach a broader range of athletes and active people than ever before. Ms. Storms joined Gatorade in June 2009 after 14 years of hands-on experience with Turner Broadcasting Systems (TBS Inc.), where she rose through the ranks to serve as a senior vice president of Turner Sports Marketing & Programming. During her tenure at Turner Sports, Ms. Storms was instrumental in overseeing sports programming on both TBS and TNT networks as well as the division’s online properties including the NBA Digital Portfolio, NASCAR.COM and PGA.com among others. She also oversaw business and strategy development for the network’s four television properties (NBA, NASCAR, MLB, and professional golf) and managed the internal promotion agency responsible for all on-air and off-channel creative development. For three consecutive years, she was named to Sports Business Journal’s “40 Under 40” list earning her induction into the award’s hall of fame. In 2008, she was named to the “Marketers of the New Generation” by Brandweek. She currently serves on the board of directors for USA Canoe/Kayak, the governing body for canoe and kayak racing in the U.S. Prior to joining Turner Sports, Ms. Storms worked for the United States Olympic Committee (USOC). She served as the International Games preparation liaison and lived in Mar Del Plata, Argentina, from 1994 to 1995 working on the Pan American Games. Ms. Storms is a graduate of Northwestern University where she earned a B.A. degree.

Norris Scott is vice president of partnership marketing and business solutions for the National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR). Based in NASCAR’s New York office, he oversees two departments that provide account management, strategic direction, exclusive assets, creative ideation, and best-in-class client service to more than 40 official partners of the sanctioning body. NASCAR has the most Fortune 500 involvement of any sport, and these partnerships are a lynchpin to the sport’s continued growth. he cultivates relationships, provides resources and develops assets for these partners. Before joining NASCAR in 2005, Mr. Scott was senior director, sports management at ESPN/ABC Customer Marketing and Sales, where he developed and managed the integrated sponsorship sales of several marquee properties including the NFL, College Football/BCS. Prior to joining ESPN, he managed sponsors at the National Football League in the corporate sponsorship group. Prior to the NFL he held a position at ABC Sports managing the network’s first ever College Football BCS marketing rights and sponsorship sales for ABC’s Triple Crown TV marketing rights. Mr. Scott started his career in sports out of college working for the then NYT Event Company which managed golf and tennis events for clients of the NYT Magazine Group. He holds a B.S. in corporate communications from Ithaca College.

Laren Ukman joined IEG in 1995 and in 2006 assumed the chief executive role, responsible for all aspects of IEG’s business, including information services, events and training, and consulting, valuation and measurement, as well as IEG’s integration with WPP. In addition to her involvement in client projects, she also continues to lead IEG’s expert witness practice, testifying in legal matters involving issues related to sponsorship contracts and the valuation of sponsorship and other non-traditional media. Ms. Ukman is a frequent speaker on sponsorship worldwide and has shared her insights with audiences in Germany, Singapore, Switzerland, Sweden, England and Canada. She also has taught a graduate course on the subject at the University of Lugano in Switzerland and is on the faculty of Northwestern University’s Master of Arts in Sports Administration program. Prior to joining IEG, Ms. Ukman was the executive vice president of Continental Distributing Co., the largest wine and spirits wholesaler in Illinois. She is a board member of A Giving Heart Foundation and is a past president of Meals on Wheels Chicago. Ms. Ukman earned her M.B.A. from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management and her J.D. from IIT-Chicago Kent College of Law.
Russell Wallach is president of Live Nation Network, overseeing all sponsorship programs across venue, online, social media, mobile and artist platforms at Live Nation Entertainment, the world leading live entertainment and eCommerce company. Under his leadership, Live Nation Network has successfully developed a broad range of multimillion-dollar, integrated marketing programs with some of the biggest global brands, including Citi, Coca-Cola, Anheuser Busch and Starwood Hotels. Mr. Wallach is committed to delivering high-impact, digital marketing programs for brands to effectively and efficiently engage consumers at every touch point. He and his team have created some of the most exciting, award-winning branded entertainment properties in the business by leveraging social media, mobile and event marketing for clients like HP, State Farm and Nikon. He manages a team of over 150 staff members across North America. Mr. Wallach has worked for Live Nation and its predecessors since 1999. Previously, he led the Naming Rights Divisions for SFX Sports and ProServ. He has over 20 years of experience in the sports and entertainment industry, has been quoted in publications like Fast Company, Advertising Age and CNBC.com, and has spoken at blue chip conferences such as Fast Company Uncensored, ad:tech, Billboard Touring and Sponsorship Conference, The Mobile Marketing Forum and OMMA Global.
