Standards Institute (ANSI)—a standards development organization—and has developed North America’s only auto glass replacement standard, the AGRSS Standards™ (ANSI/AGSC/AGRSS 004-2018 Automotive Glass Replacement Safety Standard), and manages the industry’s Certifi cation Program for technicians and Registered Member Company Program for companies. AGSC currently offers training and technician accreditation programs nationwide. Become certifi ed and expand your business opportunities. www.agsc.org and www.safewindshields.org

Independent Glass AssociationThe Independent Glass Association (IGA) is dedicated to the needs of the independent glass companies in North America. Its members are also dedicated to the professional

and ethical installation of glass in a safe and proper manner. IGA members are located in all 50 states and ten countries.www.iga.org

Pilkington Clear Advantage Auto Glass Technician CompetitionThe Auto Glass Technician Competition (AGTO) is the event for auto glass technicians and fi tters from all over the world to come together in an educational forum to compete and learn from one another. This annual gathering plays an important role in the auto glass replacement industry to ensure that

technicians have the ability to showcase their skills and techniques through a premier competition and educational demonstrations.www.autoglassweek.com

About Our Show SponsorsDear Auto Glass Industry Colleague,

There’s a great quote, attributed to Intel president Andy Groves that couldn’t be more appropriate for these times:

“Bad companies are destroyed by crisis, Good compa-nies survive them, Great companies are improved by them.”

And what better way to fi ght through the current crisis and improve your company than through education? New and challenging technology makes it necessary and a tougher business environment demands it for your busi-ness to not only survive but thrive.

That’s why Auto Glass Week™ is for you. More than 50 events grace this year’s program including educational seminars, demonstrations, a trade show full of new and important products, services and the competitions for the world’s top in their fi eld. We’ve even updated the program to include sessions about surviving and growing during the pandemic.

You won’t want to miss it. And with our expanded AGW@Home program, you don’t need to if you can’t attend the live event. Auto Glass Week will be held June 7-9 in Orlando. The Orange County Convention Center (OCCC) has been hosting groups since August 2020 and they have been successful and safe. The Rosen Hotels have enhanced safety protocols in place and the OCCC has been awarded the important GBAC STAR™ accredita-tion for outbreak prevention, response and recovery. Rec-ognized as the gold standard for healthy venues, GBAC STAR™ provides third party validation of bio-risk prevention. The hotel and convention center are connected by a sky bridge as well and the event will also follow the CDC guidelines in place in June. Orlando is also a great place for open air dining if you prefer. So we feel good about the protocols in place for our meeting.

Nonetheless, we recognize there are some people who will not feel safe traveling to the event. So for this year we are excited to announce the premier AGW@Home. At-tendees will be able to go to the educational seminars, visit trade show booths and chat with sponsors, attend demos and the competitions—all from home. We are excited about this new type of registration. The virtual event platform gives you the look, feel and interaction of the live show.

Not sure which to choose? You can sign up for the live or AGW@Home event, and change your registration type until May 28, 2021 so you don’t have to make that fi nal decision yet.

But one fi nal decision you will want to make is to come—whether live or virtually. You can now participate in AGW from anywhere in the world.

The education is so critical, the challenges ahead of us so great that you will not want to miss a single minute.

We look forward to seeing you in June.

    Sincerely,

    Managing Director,Auto Glass Week

Speaker: Frank Terlep, CEO of Autotechcelerators, has worked for more than 40 years in the automotive industry and has been at the forefront of auto and collision technologies since the mid-1980s. Frank’s first technology business was launched in 1984 with a $100,000 investment from an angel investor where Frank developed one of the first software applications for the automotive aftermarket industry. Since then Frank has helped design and launch the industry’s first Windows based estimating and management system, the first online parts procurement platform, the first mobile app and digital marketing platform as well as an industry leading remote scanning and calibration software platform.

Today, Frank is a published author of a new book, “Auto Industry Disruption, Who and What is Being Disrupted and What to Do About It” and the CEO of Auto Techcelerators, LLC, that has developed Test Drive CoPilot™, a new platform that will change the way test drives are performed, managed and documented forever and Calibration CoPilot™, a way to manage and document ADAS calibrations.
