This month, we will be “seizing
the day” and supporting our nearby community by
attending the high-school production of “Newsies”.
This musical is being shown at American Fork High
School.
“Newsies The Musical” is a musical based on the
1992 musical film Newsies, which in turn was inspired
by the real-life Newsboys Strike of 1899 in New York
City. This new Disney musical tells the story of Jack
Kelly, a rebellious newsboy who dreams of a life as an
artist away from the big city. After publishing giant
Joseph Pulitzer raises newspaper prices at the
newsboys’ expense, Kelly and his fellow newsies take
action. With help from the beautiful female reporter
Katherine Plumber, all of New York City soon
recognizes the power of “the little man.” We all like
to cheer for the underdog. Come join in the fun.
Registration fee covers the cost of admission and
transportation. Please register to join us soon as
seating is limited. Please pay for this trip by
November 8th. If it is after the registration date, you
can check with a staff member to see if there are still
openings or to be put on a waiting list.
A HUGE thank you to all who were able to come on our
last trips to Tuacahn or Heber City for Cowboy Poetry!
On each trip, we had a lot of fun, great weather and
‘spur of the moment’ entertainment. But best of all– we
got to know each other and make new friends! We hope
everyone can join us next time we head down there to see
shows or other adventurous trips! We love to travel with
you, our friends!
