Gandhi responds to this by saying that it takes more courage not to fight back physically against something wrong. Throwing punches only creates more problems, not less. Gandhi recognized this and used it as advice to others.

Nations are still fighting all over the world, and if they would just stop and talk to each other, many problems could be solved. It takes courage to put down your gun and try to talk to the person that you were just shooting at, but with that courage comes the hope of peace.
