You Can Measure the Benefits…

MonoScan supplied with preprogrammed default settings, making it ready for immediate

use.

Main setting-up steps 0 – 5 Pr 00 – Flow measurement

(MonoScan O)This program enables you to

selectpreset weir/flumes.Note: this function will be

available only for Open Channel unit.

Pr 01 – Reset reset the unit (keeps the last parameters), same as on/off

Pr 02 – Tank height enter the correct height (from sensor to bottom)

Pr 03 – Defining interfering

signals (Scan Distance process)

“Static interference” is a well

known phenomenon in ultrasound

technology.

Use Scan Distance function to

“map” your tank from these

obstacles and to memorize the

interfering signals.

MonoScan can locate and store up to 7 obstructions.

After storing 7 interference signals the memory act as FIFO (first in first out), the 7th signal will erase the first signal and so on.

Note: Each obstruction will extend

the calculation time. Defining interfering signals

is done while the tank is empty.

Clear stored interferences When entering Pr.03, you

can either select Search to locate acoustic interferences, or Clear to delete stored interferences.

Pr 04 - 4 mA Pr 05 - 20 mA

The 4mA can be defined for Level, Distance or Flow measurements. This definition will be applicable for 20mA values, in Pr.05.

When setting 4mA and 20mA for Level measurements, Pr.04 and Pr.05 will be configured for level values.

When setting 4mA and 20mA for Distance or Flow the values will be in Distance or Flow).

Extra Features

Pr 06 Low / High dynamic Define whether high or low reading speed :

SE 0 - 80cm/minute (low dynamic)SE 1 - 1.5m/minute (high

dynamic)SE 2 – rapid changes (fast

dynamic 2m/min)Note: Pro 06 is available in models L/O, while S uses low dynamic as default.

Pr.09 – Gas Compensation. This program enables you to

compensate for sound velocity in different types of gasses, provided the sound velocity is fixed.

You can enter the appropriate factor for each type of gas listed on the ‘Gas Table’ in the User Manual.

For example the sound velocity in air is 331.6 m/sec and for Ethanol (C2H3OH) 235.4 m/sec, therefore a factor of 235.4 /331.6= 0.71 .

Note: Since there are several gases in the tank, air density must be calculated

Gas Compensation – Volume calculation This program enables the user to calculate volume in a linear

tank (cylindrical etc). PR09 factor is multiplied with the measurement value giving a volume up to 1500 (maximum displayed value).

For example tank height = 1.5m Volume factor = 3 Maximum volume = max T.H. X Volume factor = 1.5 X 3 = 4500

Maximum Gas factor = 10 Volume is calculated linear.

22mA Error Signal Indications

“F.F.F.F” - Whenever the level reaches up to 10cm inside dead zone or overflow occurred, “F.F.F.F” will appear on the MonoScan’s display.

“E.E.E.E” - Whenever the echo is not received by the transducer because of empty tank or when the measured distance is greater than permitted, “E.E.E.E” will appear on the MonoScan’s display.

Shift Blocking Distance (SBD)

This function enables you to enlarge the Dead Zone and is applicable for installations requiring extension pipes or nuzzles positioned above the application level.

SBD is limited to 1.5m/4.9ft. In order to access this

function, enter 0001 in Pr 02.

8888 will appear for a few seconds after restart. If it last more than a few seconds it may be due to the following reasons: Power supply’s voltage is

too low “Load Resistor”

resistance is too high or not necessary at all

Random Impulse which cause automatically self restart
