To set the Date and Time

1. Hold down the MenuDial button until ‘OPTIONS MENU’

appears on the LCD

2. Press the Up button twice and press MenuDial

3. Use the Up and Down buttons to set the year

then press MenuDial

4. Use the Up and Down buttons to set the Month,

Day, Hour and Minute and press MenuDial after each time

5. Wait 5 seconds and the LCD should now display the correct date and time

To set your Outgoing Message (the message callers will hear):Your Radius Response Answering Machine has 2 types of Outgoing Message:

• Outgoing Message 1 (OGM1) – this is a message to tell callers you are away and to ask them to leave a message. This is the most common message mode

• Outgoing Message 2 (OGM2) – this is a message to tell callers to call back later (no caller message will be taken)

You don’t have to record a personalised outgoing message, your answering machine will say OGM1 ‘Please leave your message after the beep’ or OGM2 ‘Please call later’

To record your Personal Message:Press and hold the OGM key until you hear a ‘beep’

Record your Outgoing Message and press On / Off to stop recording

Your Outgoing Message will be played back. Repeat the above if you are not happy with what you have recorded

To set the Message Mode:Your Radius Response Answering Machine can be set in 3 modes:

• Answering Machine Off (will not answer)

• Answering Machine On (take a message)

• Answering Machine On (ask caller to call back later, no message is taken)

To turn your answering machine On or Off, press and hold

the On / Off key for 5 seconds

Your answering machine will say ‘Answering Machine Off’ or ‘Answering Machine On’. It will also tell you which Outgoing Message is set

To change the Outgoing Message type (OGM1/OGM2) press

the On / Off key once

NOTE 1 – If you want to record Outgoing Message 2, you need to set your answering machine to On and Announcement 2 before following the recording instructions above

NOTE 2 – You can set the number of rings before the call is answered from the MENU see section 6

Once you have recorded your Outgoing Message and set the Message Mode, you are now ready to take messages.

• NEW ICM LED – flashes when there are new incoming messages

• POWER LED – lights to say power is on

• LCD – displays date/time, number of messages, caller number, call list etc.

• OGM – press and hold to record your outgoing message, press once to listen to your outgoing message. Also press to skip to previous incoming message

• PLAY – play and pause incoming messages

• UP/DOWN – view caller list or use on menu selection

• ERASE – press to erase incoming messages, outgoing messages etc.

• CALL REC – press and hold during call to record call. Also press to skip to next incoming message

• ON/OFF – press to change outgoing message type, also press and hold to turn answering machine on/off

• MENU/DIAL – press and hold to enter menu setup. Also press when viewing caller list to auto dial caller back

When someone calls you:• The LCD display will show the caller’s number (note

you may need to enable ‘Caller Display’ from BT or your telephone service provider for this feature to work)

• The number of calls on the LCD display will increase by 1 regardless of whether they left a message

• After the pre-programmed number of rings, your answering machine will answer and play the outgoing message

• You can simply answer the call by lifting your telephone handset before your answering machine answers the call or while it is taking a message if you want to talk to the caller

If someone has left you a message:• The NEW ICM LED will flash

• The LCD display will show 1 or more new messages have been left

To listen to your messages:• Press the Play button. The message will be played

and the date and time will be shown on the LCD display and played at the end

• Use the |t to listen to the message from the start

• Use the u| to listen to the next message

• Use the Erase key to erase a message you have listened to

To erase all messages:• Press and hold the Erase then press Erase again when

asked for confirmation

To set your message playback volume:• Use the Hi/Low button on the back of your answering

machine to set the playback volume

To view your call list:• Press Up or Down to scroll through your caller list

• Press the MenuDial key to auto dial the caller back

(your answering machine will ask you to lift the telephone handset)

To record a phone call:• While you are on a phone call, press and hold the Call Rec

key. The conversation will be recorded as a new incoming message

• Press On / Off to stop the call recording at any time during the call

To get your messages while you are away:You can dial your own telephone number while you are away and access various features including listening to your messages, setting the answering machine on/off and recording a new Outgoing Message.

To access your answering machine while you are away, you will need your Remote Dial In Password (see menu settings below). The factory setting for this is ‘321’ but we advise you to change it.

Using Broadband on the same line

Your Broadband supplier should have provided you with a ‘Splitter/Microfilter’ to allow connection of your router/hub.

If you do not use a Splitter/Microfilter you may experience problems with your Broadband or your Answering Machine.

Answering machine does not answer

Check cable connections.Check answering machine is ‘ON’ Did you set too many rings before answer?

You can set the Answering Mode using the instructions in the setup section above.

You can also set the number of Rings before answer using the Menu.

Messages are not being recorded

Check answering machine is set to Outgoing Message 1

Note that when Outgoing Message 2 is set, your answering machine will only ask callers to call back later.

No callers number on the LCD display

Check that ‘Caller Display’ is enabled by your telephone service provider.

Many phone companies such as BT do not provide Caller Display as standard, it is low cost or sometimes free to have it enabled.

Your answering machine will arrive programmed to use Outgoing Message 1!

To access your answering machine while you are away:• Call your own telephone number

• When your answering machine answers the call dial the Remote Dial In Password (321)

• You will hear the menu and you can use the keys on your telephone to access the features:

Menu Options:Your answering machine has various options under the menu. Generally it is not necessary to adjust these but the table below lists what is available.

To enter the Menu Mode, press and hold the MenuDial key,

use Up and Down to scroll through each mode.

Use MenuDial key to select a parameter and use Up

parameter using MenuDial key to set.
