Greetings,

May is Mental Health Awareness Month. NAMI is the National Alliance on Mental Illness, the nation's largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness.

NAMI' affected by mental illness to fight stigma, inspire others and educate the broader public. Now more than ever before, it is important for the mental health community to come together and show the world the no one should ever feel alone.

In addition to resources supporting Mental Health Awareness Month, NAMI offers COVID-19 Tips: a comprehensive section related to mental health while navigating these uncertain times of isolation and increased anxiety.

Every year thousands of individuals die by suicide, leaving behind their friends and family members to navigate the tragedy of loss. In these current times, we must be more aware of the impacts of isolation.

I hope you'll find these resources and the tips and tools below helpful for you and the families you serve as we work together to strengthen and sustain families through these challenging times.

Tips of the Month As we observe Mental Health Awareness Month, use the tips and resources below to support NAMI's efforts to "build better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness.

· Share #NotAlone graphics and messages with your online community. NAMI has created graphics that you can easily download and share via your social media channels in order to spread awareness.

· Support an existing fundraiser or start one. NAMI has several

· Learn about how background and identity can impact access to treatment. Watch the NAMI docuseries,

highlights perspectives on mental health from the African American and Latinx communities.

· Spread awareness of minority mental health. Share minority mental health awareness information, images and graphics for #MinorityMentalHealth

Featured Resources The Resource Center's Virtual Library has collected more than 3,000 materials in a variety of formats including fact sheets, research-to-practice briefs, brochures, pamphlets, training resources, program reports or evaluations, and research materials.

This article highlights the importance of addressing mental health and building resilience among first responders. It highlights the American Psychological Association's 10 strategies designed to build resilience.
