YMCA Announces Grand Opening of New Y Colorado Springs, CO - The YMCA of the Pikes Peak Region is proud to announce the grand opening of the YMCA at First & Main on Saturday, March 16. “The east corridor of Colorado Springs will soon have their own YMCA that has been in development for the past several years. We are blessed to have this opportunity to serve children and adults of all ages with this state-of-the-art facility,” said Boyd Williams, President & CEO of the YMCA of the Pikes Peak Region. “Most importantly, the Y is about building community, serving our fellow neighbors and providing access to all regardless of income. The Y is different, it is so much more and it continues to evolve meeting the needs of our growing community.” The YMCA will be hosting a Grand Opening Celebration from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 16. The event is free and open to the community. Activities include group exercise and small group training demonstrations, a dance party, food, music and more. YMCA members will be able to work out and utilize all of the amenities, including up to 2.5 hours of Learn & Play (child watch) for their kids. Nonmembers are welcome to enjoy the festivities and tour the facility, and will be able to join the Y family onsite. The YMCA will remain open through its normal hours after the Grand Opening Celebration is over. Renovations began on the new YMCA in August. The YMCA at First & Main has the largest healthy living area of any YMCA in the region and the Y’s only cardio cinema. It also has the Y’s largest Learn & Play (child watch) center.
