I don’t even call it violence when it’s in self defense; I call it Intelligence. -Malcolm X

The ability to protect oneself physically from harm is a basic human right that should be accessible to everyone, including children. Teaching children self-defense is something that everyone will often overlook in today’s society, but it is of utmost importance. In an age when the bullying epidemic in school is a huge problem, it is important to ensure that every child can defend themselves if the need arises. And, it also empowers children with the knowledge of self-defense. knowledge of self-defense.

Self-defense not only allows children to tangibly defend themselves against physical attacks, it also sparks various benefits to them in everyday life. Important values and principles can be learned, such as hard work, dedication, and perseverance, as well as the importance of maintaining personal relationships.

PLANTATION PROGRAMMEPLANTATION PROGRAMME

“ Reversing deforestation is complicated; but planting a tree is simple.”As of 2019, there are only 35 billion trees in India to shade a population of 1.3 billion. Among highly populous countries, India has a tree population of only 35 billion, leading to just 28 trees per person. As we all know, trees are very essential for humans. They give us fresh air to breathe, food to eat and shelter/shade from sunlight/ rainfall. Besides this, there are many medicines in the market that amarket that are made up of trees extracts. Apart from this, there are plants that have medicinal value. The Amazon rain forest fire and Australia bushfire had demolished thousands of trees and wild animals. And we humans, do cut trees to make furniture etc. So, its our responsibility to balance what we lost. We believe that “Sometimes one small step can change the future.” Keeping this in the mind, the Rotaract Club Of JIMS Vasant Kunj organised its Plantation Drive twice in the tenure 2019-20. Both the events were huge success. And they got an amazing got an amazing responses from their faculties and from their fellow rotaractors.
