William Johnson Legacy Scholarship AwardMEPI would like to thank the Johnson family
for the their continued support.
Brandon was first interested in Engineering in the 6th grade through the Minority Engineering Program of Indianapolis. He
participated in MEPI through the 12th grade from 1992-1998 and graduated from North Central High School in
Indianapolis. Brandon continued his pursuit of engineering having four internships with Eli Lilly and Company and earning
his chemical engineering degree at Purdue University.
Brandon joined Eli Lilly and Company in 2002 in the Engineering Tech Center as a Process Control Engineer supporting a
new biotech molecule to treat severe sepsis. He then transitioned into a Process Engineering role supporting the
manufacturing of life saving insulin for diabetes patients around the world. After practicing as a chemical engineer he was
then promoted and as a Process Team Leader he had responsibility for biotech products such as Humalog, Glucagon, and
Basal insulins in different manufacturing facilities.
After various successful manufacturing leadership roles in Indianapolis, Brandon and his family moved to Liverpool,
England in late 2010 where he served as Biotech Operations Leader for Human Health products at the Speke
manufacturing facility. During this assignment, Brandon also assumed responsibility for one of the first Animal Heath
biotech products to help improve productivity for food production globally.
In 2013, Brandon and his family returned to the United States as he transitioned to his current role of Product Engineering
Director of Global Device Manufacturing. In this role, he has responsibility for the global design for Lilly’s marketed device
portfolio. He was recently promoted to Senior Director of Technical Services and Manufacturing Sciences and will be
relocating to Lilly’s largest manufacturing facility located in Fegersheim, France.
Brandon is married to Elaina; and they have two children: a son, Braeden Emmanuel and a daughter, Olivia Berena. They
are members of Solid Word Bible Church and when Brandon has a moment, he is passionate about teaching, making
music and film._______________________________________________________________________________
