We will need to drop the

balls from the same height each time and measure the height of each bounce

e.g. a post or wall marked with measurements.

By recording our results, we can keep track of which balls and surfaces give us

the best results.

Lesson – Science- What makes some tennis balls bounce higher or more

times than others?

Task – Which ball and surface are the best for playing on?

For this project, we will investigate how the:

• bounce factor

• brand of ball

• age of ball

• bounce surface

can affect how high/the number of times a ball

bounces.

First up:

Don’t worry if you do not have access to some tennis balls- you can watch a

video of this investigation.
