One day, Kiran was cycling home from school. Suddenly, his bicycle hit a big

stone and he fell onto the road. He hurt his knee and it was bleeding badly.

A passer-by saw Kiran crying in pain. He quickly got down from his car to

lend a helping hand. He took out his first aid bo and helped Kiran to wrap up the

wound to stop the bleeding.

!hen, he took Kiran to a nearby clinic to seek treatment. He also asked Kiran

to inform his parents. Kiran"s parents were grateful and thanked the man for

helping their son. Kiran promised to be etra careful when cycling in the future.

$ast Saturday, there was a talk about dengue fe%er and ways to get

rid of the aedes mosquitoes in !aman &aya. 'any residents attended the talk and

the neighbourhood watch committee decided to organi(e a gotong-royong to keep

the housing area clean and free from the mosquitoes.

!he net day, the residents gathered as early as ).*+ in the morning. !hey

brought along tools like sickles, hoes, brooms and machetes. !he men cleaned the

drains and the playground. Some women ser%ed food and drinks for them.

!hree hours later, the whole neighbourhood was clean and e%eryone was

satisfied with the effort. !hey were happy because their housing area would not

be the breeding ground of the mosquitoes.

Amanda"s school organi(ed a %isit to an orphanage two weeks ago. !wenty

pupils accompanied by four teachers went there by bus.

At the orphanage, they were welcomed by the principal and were introduced

to the children. !hey had many acti%ities and enoyed themsel%es. Some of themcleaned and tidied up the rooms. !hey became friends and played games together.

t was time to go home so they echanged e-mail address so that they could

contact each other. !hey shook hands and bade farewell. t was a memorable day
