Today we will be looking at multiplying decimals by 10, 100 and 1000.

We have done lots of work on multiplying whole numbers by 10, 100 and 1000 and the principal remains the

same. The digits move one space to the left when multiplying by 10, two spaces when multiplying by 100 and

three spaces when multiplying by

1000. Eg 0.3 x 10 = 3.0 0.3 x 100 = 30.00 0.3 x 1000 = 300.00
