Students will gain two whole GCSEs in August 2017 – English Language and English Literature
Students will take 4 exams. There are no controlled assessments or coursework.
At the moment, LANGUAGE will count towards their college/university application.
At the moment, a grade 4 is the cut off for college BUT many will require a grade 5.
The elusive grade 9 is equivalent to A**. Only the top 4% in the country will achieve it.
There are no tiers of entry. Every student will take the same exam.

Students will not have the texts in the exam. They will need to learn the texts very well
Exams range between 1hr and 45 mins and 2hr 15 mins.

Students will take 3 exams. In total they will complete 4 and half hours worth of Maths exams.
At the moment, a grade 4 is the cut off for college BUT many will

There are 2 tiers of entry foundation and higher.
What other changes have been made to Higher GCSE Maths?
Higher tier paper has the emphasis on algebra. However at the heart of all of the above is the ability to problem solve.
