Finally - “LITTLE AND OFTEN” is the best way to learn and remember maths skills. It is so much better to do 20 mins a day than to sit down and try and do 2 hours once a week. - “PRACTICE MAKES PERMANENT” – Make sure you are checking your answers either with your teacher or online.

ScienceMainstream: Core Science and Additional Science
Fast Track: Biology, Chemistry and Physics
Core Science and Additional Science exams will consist of:
• 3 exams (Biology, Chemistry and Physics) all worth 25% each.
• These 3 exams, as well as the controlled assessed task, are added together and a final grade is awarded for the Core Science and Additional Science GCSE.
Separate Science exams will consist of:
• 3 exams in Biology (B1, B2 and B3) all worth 25% each.
• 3 exams in Chemistry (C1, C2 and C3) all worth 25% each.
• 3 exams in Physics (P1, P2 and P3) all worth 25% each.
• For each subject the final 25% is made up of the controlled assessed task. This is combined with the 3 exams to give a separate grade for each subject.
The Papers:
• Will be 60 mins long and worth 60 marks (1 mark per minute).
• Each paper will consist of two 6 mark questions, which must have clear written communication.
Science
Revision:
• Past papers are available at Edexcel online. Core Science are B1, C1 and P1; Additional Science are B2, C2 and P2 papers.
• Past papers for Separate Science are also available at Edexcel online. Biologyare B1, B2 and B3; Chemistry are C1, C2 and C3; Physics are P1, P2 and P3papers.
• SAM learning is a brilliant resource to help improve subject knowledge.
• Lots of revision guides are available to buy, just make sure they cover the Edexcel course
• We encourage students to ask us questions. We have an open door policy and want to answer revision based questions.

Religious Studies
• Revision materials have been provided for students free of charge.
These are also available on the VLE/SMHW.
• Students are encouraged to revise little and often. They are currently revising in class but it would
be wise for them to go over each topic at home after the lesson and have a go at practice exam
questions that are in their revision guides.
• Students are expected to learn real-life examples and quotes that can be used in their exam.
• Students are encouraged to ask questions about the exam to their teachers.
