MY BELIEVES

ABOUT STUDENT

S

STUDENTS ARE THE FUTURE“Children are the world’s most valuable resource and its best

hope for the future.” - John F. Kennedy

I believe that an educated and creative population is the best path to global health, wealth, and peace. A teacher’s role in one’s life is fundamental. Hence, a good teacher sets the foundation and motivation for students to build on. I as a teacher will commit a 110% and take great responsibility for contributing to build a strong community for a better society.

EVERY STUDENT HAS A TALENT

STUDENTS ARE UNIQUE INDIVIDUALS AND LEARN

IN DIFFERENT WAYS

“The essence of our effort to see that every child has a chance must be to assure each an equal opportunity, not to become equal, but to become

different- to realize whatever unique potential of body, mind and spirit he or she possesses.” - John Fisher

It is my job, as a teacher to actively observe each student individually in order to determine their differences. Once that is done, I have to create an environment that is best for their development. I will introduce them to a wide range of activities, materials and learning tasks. I will always try to come up with better, more original and more interesting ways of teaching.

STUDENTS COME FROM DIFFERENT CULTURES AND ETHNICALLY

DIVERSE GROUPS " We have become not a melting pot but a beautiful mosaic.

Different people, different beliefs, different yearnings, different hopes, different dreams."

- Jimmy Carter

School is the one institution that everyone goes to. Nowadays, around the world and especially in a country like Canada, the classrooms are greatly diverse. It is our responsibility as teachers tobe familiar and understand our students’ backgrounds and cultures,in order to create a safe and peaceful environment. Teachers are oneof the main connecting force in helping communities adapt to amulticultural society. Therefore, I will commit to respect, know andunderstand all of the cultures and ethnic backgrounds of my

students tothe best of my ability.

STUDENTS ARE “DREAMERS” AND LIVE IN THEIR OWN WORLD

STUDENTS ARE EASILY DISTRACTED

“All I'm gonna do is just go on and do what I feel.” - Jimi Hendrix

I remember, passing notes in class back and forth and to be honest, I would not trade those 'illegal' communications for anything. However, I truly hope that I will be able to design my classes much more interesting so that my students will not feel the need to get involved with all kinds of distractions and remember the classes as great experiences instead. I plan to get my students involved and interested, even fascinated, by introducing different teaching methods, techniques and strategies. I am realistic about the fact that no matter how original and dedicated of a teacher I might become, it will still happen, students will pass notes back and forth, send text messages, et cetera. And let me tell you that once in a while I might even let them....

STUDENTS ARE NATURALLY CURIOUS AND LIKE TO EXPLORE

“If a child is to keep alive his inborn sense of wonder without any such gift from the fairies, he needs the companionship of at least one adult who can share it, rediscovering with him the joy, excitement and mystery of the world we live in.” – Rachel Carson

There is nothing better in the world than witnessing a child's fascination after having made a discovery. Nothing more priceless than the sparkle and amazement in the eyes of a child that has seen something for the first time. No matter the age of a person, we all have those moments, they simply decrease in number the older we get. I hope that I will be able to witness them countless times throughout my practice as a teacher. I hope that I will be able to feed my students curiosity with meaningful and useful knowledge. Not only knowledge from the textbooks but also knowledge from life itself, from time's wisdom. I will let them explore, discover and get to know the world for themselves, but guide them through the process. My reward and motivation - simply a collection of moments!

STUDENTS LOVE TO LAUGH

“Humor helps to think out of the box. The average child laughs about 400 times per day, the average adult laughs only 15 times per day. What happened to the other 385 laughs?” -

Anonymous

Humor is an essential part of our lives. People bond by making each other laugh. After all, who does not like someone who makes them laugh? I sure hope to be able to include humor as a big part of my teaching style. I envision a classroom full of smiles because having fun is just as important as everything else in life.
