Pre-launch checklistBefore operating your new boat for the first time, it is important to check a variety of items on the yacht prior to the first launch. Checking the listed items below will ensure that the yacht is currently in proper working condition and will maintain it’s peak condition for years to come.

Item 1 Keys to the Salon entry door key are located on the transom handrail on center extension bar.

The combination to access the key is: 54162

Item 2 Make sure the drain plug is in place and secure. The drain plug is located on the transom hull.

Item 3 Check the hull bottom and transom to ensure that all under water parts are in order and there is no visible damage to the bottom surfaces.

Item 4 Make sure adequate fuel is onboard prior to cruising. Know the tank’s cruising radius and fuel tank range. Typical tank usage: 1/3 of the supply to reach the destination, 1/3 of the supply to return, and keep 1/3 in reserve for changes in plans due to weather or other circumstances.

Item 5 Turn ON the Accessory Main battery switch. The Accessory Main is located in starboard aft storage locker in the cockpit. Note: Storage Locker Door is shown removed.

Item 6 Turn ON all Master Disconnect Switches and Emergency breakers are ON. All switches and breakers are located in the engine room on the panels shown below.

Item 7 Turn ON all 60 - 120 amp breakers shown on the above pan els. Breakers can be turned on by flipping the “RESET” hinge arm located on the bottom side of the center extension bracket up to the locked postion. The arm will hinge and secure behind the extension bracket. Once secure the breaker is ON.

Item 8 Make sure all of the breakers on the Helm Electronics Breaker Panel are ON. Once the breakers are ON, the items controlled by the panel can be operated.

Item 9 Turn ON all MAIN and ACCESSORY circuit breakers as needed, located on the DC Distribution Panel and the AC Distribution Panel. The DC Distribution Panel is located on the starboard, outboard side of the helm. The AC Distribution Panel is located in the aft, port corner of the Salon, below the television. See the above illustration for panel locations.

Note: Before power can be supplied to the AC Distribution Panel, the generator must be started or shore power must be supplied to the yacht.

If the generator is used, the generator can be started at the unit itself, or by the remotely from the DC Distribution Panel. Refer to Section 3 of the Owner’s Manual for instruction on starting the generator. See sub-section titled Starting the Generator.

Start one engine at a time by using the engine ignition switches at the helm. Immediately after the first engine, make sure that engine is circulating cooling water by looking through the clear cover on the intake sea strainer basket, located at the the front of the engine. Once the first engine is circulat ing coolant water, start the second engine, and check the sea strainer, by following the same instruc tions as the first engine.

Item 12 Press the Volvo joystick DOCKING button to activate the joystick; the joystick is located at the helm. The Volvo joystick will not function until the DOCKING button has been activated. The joystick will automatically disengage when engaging standard controls, such as the using the shift throttle lever. See the joystick and shift-throttle lever illustration below.
